WM Bartleet & Sons 1750TSET69 Traditional Set of 4 Porcelain Mugs/Cups (1pt/568ml) – Blue Polka Dot, Dotty

I've bought two or three of these porcelain mugs before on Amazon or eBay. This one is not porcelain. It is just heavy glazed China. If you hang a porcelain mug on your finger and flick it with the finger of the other hand... it will ring. This one gives a high pitched thud. It's misdescribed. I hate getting taken for a ride. I can't believe that 70 odd reviewers gave 5 stars.

I would return this if I could but I’m shielding and don’t want to go to a post office. This mug stained after one cup of tea. I’ve soaked it in bleach and it’s still stained so clearly the internal glazing is flawed. I can’t see how to raise this with the seller so I’m hoping they might read this as I’m not happy with the product especially as it’s not cheap for a mug. It will look awful in no time.

I took from the ratings the impression that Bartleets was a quality product, I found on the receipt of my mug from Amazon a dimple on the rim under the glaze, I was prepared to accept that but also on the other side of the rim the side I would be drinking from again under the glaze a rough patch and small crack caused by poor production, it should not have passed quality inspection if there was any?.I returned the mug and will certainly not be purchasing anything from this company in the future.

Hairline cracks inside the mug. Showed up after drinking first cup of tea from it as the tea stained where the cracks are. I won't use a cracked mug so a waste of £10! I can't return it as I'm in isolation.

In the past I have had similar which were thinner and therefore lighter, but which tended to crack at the handle. This is much more robust and likely to last longer

Very expensive cup and you’d expect the quality will reflect that.The first one that was delivered had a significant dent at the bottom, so I sent it back.The second one wasn’t perfect either, had some other defect.. I kept it, as it seems like each one had some defect. Not impressed, considering the price.

Quite the superlative for a mug but it really is a great example of minimalist style and quality craftsmanship. It looks great, feels great and will last many more lifetimes than me.

I came back from America to find small coffee mugs everywhere. I ordered this one to replace the large ones I missed but having received it discovered it was quite huge. No problems at all with the mug but you need to really be looking for a very very large bag in order to buy this one.
