Bahco CS400 400mm Combination Square, Orange

I chose to purchase a Bahco made Combo Square based on my previous experiences with other Bahco tools and their quality. Everything else I own from Bahco is made somewhere in Europe (Finland, Sweden, Germany) or the Americas (Argentina), and definitely is well worth the extra price for the quality. Upon receiving this I immediately saw "Made in China" on the label and the lack of quality supported that.-No longer is the thumb nut or the scribe head made from brass like shown in the picture, but instead aluminum. There seems to be no problem with the manufacturing here, just you can see cost cutting measures.-Measured up against my machinist square, I see about 1/32nd of an inch (.8mm) over 4" (100mm) out-of-squareness. Granted, this is a bit of an unfair measure pitting a machinist square vs a combo square, but if not positioned incorrectly that equals 1/8th of an inch (3.2mm) over the full length of the combo square.-The ruler has many sharp edges and burrs left on the locking channel which cause intermittent and uneven sliding of the square over the ruler. This may also lead to the out-of-squareness.-The ruler also has a bit of an S-bend to it from end to end if you sight down the length of the ruler.In all, I am not satisfied with the quality of this Bahco tool, especially considering the price of over $30. Save your money and buy any other cheap Chinese made combination square from wherever you please unless you absolutely need 400mm.
