100% awesome, heavy enough for any decorating. Plus they are easy on the planet! ❤️
Not gonna lie, I wondered if these were going to feel like my foodwaste compostable bags, thin and flimsy. Well, the do NOT! They are thick and do not seem any different than a plastic disposable piping bag. I let my icing sit in the bag for a couple days to see if it would change but the bag was as good as new. I have both sizes. 12” is shown in the photo and it has about 1cup of icing in it. Could fit a little more, but it was a small job of 5 bananabread muffins. The icing was thick (cream cheese butter cream) and the bag worked like a champ. For a bigger job the 21” size would be better, just more room to be flexible and not need to refill. The bags come in a big roll and they are perforated, so they stay tidy in the box. No issue with all my pastry bags spilling out. I like having a box to store them, just easier that way. I used a coupler and icing tube and everything screwed on nice and tight... These disposable AND biodegradable icing bags are the perfect solution for convenience (HATE washing the reusable bags!!) and lessening my guilt of adding plastic to the trash dumps. Thank you Ateco for a great idea! You are my favorite.

Excellent Quality
This was my first time ordering these and I’ve had an opportunity to use them a handful of times now and have been pleasantly impressed! These have been excellent quality! They have a slight texture to them so they’re not as slippery as others I’ve used. The size is nice and large for using with my bigger cake and cupcake projects and not needing to refill as often. They are super easy to cut down the tops for smaller icing colors too. I really like that these are advertised as being compostable and biodegradable- it makes me feel a little better using them as a disposable item. These make cleaning up so much easier! I don’t have to worry about the colors staining everything or the icing being greasy trying to wash out of the reusable fabric type of bags. I appreciate that these come on a roll and are easy to pull out, tear off, and get to work! In my opinion, the time saving aspect and ease of use are worth the money!

Compostable Pastry Bags
These bags are great! The fact that they are compostable makes them even better. The 21-inch bags are the perfect size for piping and portioning batters and fillings. So far, I’ve used them to pipe eclairs, cream puffs, lady fingers, and macarons. The bags are large enough to comfortably hold an entire batch batter without being unmanageable. They are soft and flexible making them easy to fill and easy to hold while piping. They are sturdy enough that I was able to wash them to get one more use out of them to pipe pastry cream and buttercream fillings before composting the bags. These bags will definitely be a part of my go to pastry tools.

Great for reducing environmental impact but was prone to bulge with detail-consistency icing.
I was so happy to find compostable bags and was hopeful that I could use these without piping tips. That wasn't the case, since these aren't "seamless" (not that they claim to be). I felt these are great for tipless flood work, but for most else with regards to royal icing I found them to be a let-down. With anything thicker than flood consistency, they would bulge to a point of stretching to a light green color. I am sure that if used for frostings with tips these would be great bags! So glad there is a compostable option out there for people to try!

Don't waste your money
I would actually give this product a 0. I purchased this product 2 years ago. It was not my favorite bag from the beginning, hence why I still have them. There is a large seam one one side of the bag that does not feel right while decorating. SO, this morning, I am trying to decorate 2 cookies and 2 cupcakes for my grandson's teacher. Easy, right? NO. I had to change bags THREE (3) times due to the bags bursting, with only a very small amount of icing in the bag. I finally got another bag, not this one. Don't waste your money.

Great - get the large ones!
I really liked these piping bags - especially the larger size!! I was skeptical the biodegradable would hold up to the test of time, storing extra frosting in them, but they have done great! I’d recommend these for any baker!

Love These!
I've been using these for over 6 months in my home bakery business! These are the BEST! I'm so happy to have these - I could cry. Keep in mind, they're compostable, so they're not super duper heavy duty. Don't fill the whole bag up and push from the top. Fill it up however much, but only actually pipe with enough to fit in your hand. It eases the pressure AND increases your level of control. Love these for cookie decorating so I can just compost them after. For cake decorating I can just rip the coupler out. And for cookie decorating kits, amazing! I hate giving clients plastic because I don't trust them to recycle. This way, they don't have to. It is so important to me to be able to just compost these, instead of trying to waste water rinsing out plastic ones so I can recycle them. Really no complaints. Haven't had one burst or pop a hole. But if I cut the hole too big, the coupler can pop out. Sometimes they'll stretch if the buttercream is too thick, but not burst. OH but I wouldn't store icing in them for more than a week, because I think they start breaking down. They are twice the price of the DayMark PipingPal PLASTIC bags, but SO worth it.

Not for thicker batters
Good for actual buttercream icing... whipped body scrubs not so much

wish they had a best before date
I have had these compostable decorating bags since 2021. I did not use them as much as I expected so I still have more than 3/4 of the box left. I tried to use them recently, and I believe that because they are compostable, the integrity of the bag is starting to weaken. The bags are splitting open along the side seam with minimal force. I cannot take the chance of using them anymore.
