El Tape 1 Meter El Strip with 12-Volt DC Inverter - Blue/Green

I bought this kit only to obtain the inverter. It fit physically and electrically into 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee shifter console and lights the electrolumenesence via dimmer switch, matching dashboard lighting levels. Very slight high frequency tone, but not so loud that any of my passengers have noticed. I had to crimp two Molex SL100 female contacts onto the output leads which matched perfectly to the ELE panel.

I ordered about 30 meters of this EL Tape to decorate a Booth space on a convention. The theme was obviously Tron and futuristic/space. I read a LOT of negative reviews regarding these items, but it was the cheapest option. It was actually my only option. I was very scared, but, I gotta say the seller and the item came through for me. This IS NOT as fragile as other comments make it seem. As long as you don't bend them (and I mean BEND as folding it almost flat) they will not break. I did shapes, I curved them over sufaces, even dropped some of them and stepped on them, and the still work. You do not need to solder, but you will need to at least to peel and twist cables, then cover the unions with electrical tape. They work on 12V (car battery), so if you need to connect them to a wall autlet, you will need to attach the inverter (included) and a 12V transformer (not included). You can attach about 5 or 6 EL Tape 1meter extensions per transformer. The result was GREAT looking. Much more luminiscent and bright than what I was expecting. it came before the expected deadline which was great. it comes with a 12v inverter (doesn't need a full 12v to work. the inverter will..well..invert less than 12v also. 3, 6, 8, anything up to 12. i think 12v is just the inverters max capacity. but the lower voltage, less brightness. or lumens)but it also works just as good if not a little better with 3v inverters that take 2AA batteries. the ones that come with el wire. and it has the same connections soldered on already so for people that dont know how to or dont want to solder thats a way around. or, you could put a 9v battery clip on the end of the inverter and it will also work at high brightness that way. its a great product. just wish i could get it in longer quantities...

I ordered this to complete a project on my car. Its more blue than blue/green but I was willing to overlook that. Don't think that this is bright and the glow is gonna light things up cuz its not. Overall it still is good looking and there are a lot of applications I could use it for. This worked for about 20 minutes until the slightest bend stopped the light from moving thru the strip. I did not fold it, I only tried to run it across my dash which is curved. That was enought to break it. Very disappointed.

when I tried It worked , but when I installed it, it did not, the buyer said he was going to send me an other one, but never did received it.

It came fast especially for international. It works fine. You have to buy some inverters or know a bit about soldering to use it right, but I expected that
