Great all around!

Thorough coverage of the subject matter; good illustrations and fairly good questions. I liked it well enough to go ahead and purchase the entire interactive earth science for my grandson's home school, and it covers just about everything needed for a full year earth science course. So my comments which follow pertain more to that book than to the one I bought from Amazon.Three issues which led to a rating of 4 rather than 5: 1) I've found one error in the first chapter, which a teacher would have to explain, and that is using the term earth's "crust" for the lithosphere in some instances, and using it correctly in others. 2) a home school cannot purchase the internet multimedia program; and 3) a home school cannot purchase the teacher's edition because Pearson won't take an individual credit card.Fortunately I'm an experienced earth science instructor, so the inability to get the entire program is no big issue; but home schoolers without the necessary experience might want to consider choosing another program.One final item: many Christian-based home schools would disapprove of the references to millions and billions of years, to uniformitarianism, to the Big Bang theory, etc.

Good as a back up copy when my kids "forgets" his at school.
