Adam & Steve

Funny, sweet, ridiculous comedy
Okay, if you're looking for drama (instead of slapstick) or you're looking for realism, look elsewhere. This is pure silliness and fun. Who cares if it isn't the most sober and accurate portrayal of gay relationships (or straight ones.) This is fun!I laughed so hard, actually, that I woke up one of my kids in the next room. More than once. It has a few slower moments, but overall it's very fun and very sweet and gives you a bit of romantic escapism that I see too infrequently. The actors and actresses here are all good for this film and the material, and don't take themselves too seriously, just like the film. The highlight is the dance-off toward the end. I watched it a few times. I will watch it more. Some people rightfully feel there should have been some additional editing done and maybe a few gags and a few silly moments removed. Generally, I agree, but the whole package is good and entertaining and great fun. The two-stepping alone makes this worth the price for me. Enjoy!

sweet and funny
Okay, so it's a romantic comedy. Maybe it's not supposed to be real all the time. But I found some scenes unbelievable (the Western dance-off, Rhonda's rant to Steve in his open "office," Steve's strong-arming the homophobe neighbor, to name three) and that bothered me enough not to give it five stars. And though Adam's "luck-challenged" family was also unbelievable, I thought it the funniest part of the movie - laugh-out-loud funny several times. And some of the throw-away one-liners were hilarious.Otherwise, it was sweet. I cared about Adam and Steve and really wanted them to get together. Yes, the plot was formulaic, and you knew that they would be happy at the end, but getting to the ending was fun.Craig Chester's elastic face and goofy demeanor were endearing. Parker Posey is always good in whatever she's in. Chris Kattan was actually funny rather than annoying. And Malcolm Gets is easy on the eye and quite effective in the final scenes. Julie Haggerty, Meldina Dillon, and Sally Kirkland offer good support.I've watched it several times, and it keeps entertaining.

One of the Best Rom-Com!
Love this movie. Had me breaking up with laughter. And the serious moments were very touching. Finally, a gay love story with a happy ending.

A Quirky Fun Film
I had seen this film edited on Logo, but had no idea how much more funny it would be unedited, as it should be by law, and on a large screen. Sure, it is a weird, somewhat disgusting, and quirky film with silly dialogue, but it really works. It does have a seriously romantic moment at the end that does make one want to cry. The extra of how this film came to be is very interesting with interviews of the cast. The choreography is superb, and the melodramatic humour is very fitting and good for what it is. There is also an included lesson from the choreographer of the dance number. No, I didn't attempt it because I find line dancing tedious to learn, but its fun to watch, and makes one feel good. This is a hidden gem of a comedy film that every comedy lover should see regardless of the subject matter. I'm glad I bought it.

A 4-star movie with a 5-star ending
This was a great little movie. It wasn't a stand out in the genre, but it had all the elements it should have had; a great lead cast, clever and funny writing, and most importantly, a good story. Where it lacked, and lacked badly, is in the supporting cast. Chris Kattan and Parker Posey were the weak links in both acting and story line, and in my opinion cost the movie a 5th star. The story around Adam and Steve was very well done and I enjoyed the casting. [Who knew Malcolm Gets had that body??]. It was a delightful movie night for my hubby and I. We're both suckers for a sappy, happy ending, and this movie delivered.

Love the movie too bad I can't watch -_-
I love this movie but can't seem to buy a playable copy anywhere. No where on the description is this movie described as "Region 2" I've looked its not there. However, the two times I've purchased this I've been given a Region 2 and because of this the movie is useless in my Region 1 dvd player. I have no idea why this keeps happening in fact I'm pretty sure I was resent the SAME dvd from last time. The giant "do not open this unless you have a region 2 dvd player" sticker is kind of a giveaway. Either this is junk and I'm returning it BUYER BEWARE YOU'RE IN FOR A HASSLE! I wish Amazon would vet their products better no idea why this keeps happening. I'm just going to have to buy this on Ebay where I've yet to receive a BUNK movie. -__-

Yes there can be an Adam & Steve
Having first seen this movie at the 2005 film festival in Tampa, due to the large audience, and the laughter from the movie, we missed a lot of the good lines because they came so close together. We couldn't wait for the DVD to come out! When we recived it we watched it the day it came and we laughed so hard our sides hurt. Yes there were a lot of "type casting" but if you think about it most people can think of people they know who fit each and every one of them. I think it is one of the best "Gay Movies" I have seen it a long, long time.

Funny, clean humor, not over the top.
This is gay movie. Parker Posey and Cris Kattan are good as well as the main characters. Set in New York City where the past catches up with the current situation.Dialog and jokes are clever.Fun situational comedy throughout. No extreme raunchy sex scenes or anything. Good "date night" film for guys. Gay guys are the target audience and their friends.

Better the second time
This goes for the movie and the story.I had rented this movie years ago when it first was release and thought it was OK. I bought and enjoyed it much more the second time. The story is about a couple that had a VERY disappointing one night stand, who meet each other ago 17 (or so) years later but don't remember each other from that night. The story continues with small clues until they come to the realization of who each other is and get over it.

Product description said it was Region 1 but it is Region 2
Unplayable, had to return and had to put up with seller sending condescending email explaining what the different Regions are. I know the Regions, that is why I made sure the description said Region 1.

Romcom fun
It is funny, and the premise is good, but the joke about why the couple have a problem when they meet after seventeen years is pretty gross and the men simply cannot play young. It is basicaly a Farrelly Brothers type movie about two gay men who you either like as comedians or find so so. I think in the end I decided the latter but as a gross out type of film it works and I did laugh.
