It is concise, very well researched and written, and is informed by the author's own clinical experience of fluoroquinolone disabled patients.I believe that this is a key text on fluoroquinolone adverse drug reactions, and should be read by every practicing medical professional. It is also an accessible read for the non-medical professional. I have purchased it in both softcover and eBook format.Though the prescription of this class of drug has been restricted by the FDA, EMA, MHRA and other national and international medicines regulators/agencies, there is still a vacuum of knowledge concerning fluoroquinolones among medical professionals.This desperately needs to change, and this book will help that.With regards to the length of the book, its brevity/conciseness is a positive characteristic. It stands as an excellent introduction/primer for anyone on the subject of fluoroquinolone ADRs, and there is no medical professional that can say they do not have time to look at this book, should it be passed to them across their desk.

This book explains why the "very rare" crippling side effects of fluoroquinolones (e.g. ciprofloxacin, levofloxacin) are not particularly rare but are often misdiagnosed, misunderstood or even disbelieved. Many thousands of people have had their lives ruined by this class of antibiotic (one professor said their use is often like using a Kalashnikov to kill a mosquito) and the denial of HealthCare Professionals only adds insult to the many injuries. This book should be mandatory reading for all HCPs and Med students.

This book brought into focus what was happening to me. Everytime i felt a sharp piercing pain thoughout my body and went to e.r., only to be sent home...then begging various doctors for a scan because i kept on telling them another tendon snapped...only to be vindicated months and even years later by m.r.i. reports (so stingily written to me to stop the "hypochondriac" from begging) confirming that i have full tendon tears bilaterally on my biceps, my supraspinatus, as well as my infraspinatus. my glute medius i found out is also torn. [Most likely my left deltoid is gone too, my right tricep and my sartorius?] This book helped me figure out my supplementation. I really leaned into the magnesium and coq10 (ubiquinol) for the last 2 years and i got some encouraging lab results in terms of mitochondrial dysfuntion being gone. Sadly, the damage the cipro caused to my microbiome feels like a permanent problem. it's a great book, it helped me focus. It helped me feel acknowledged; not everyone exclusively ruptures their Achilles tendon on cipro, as doctors love to explain to me, as if my perceived feeble mind couldnt possibly absorb their miniscule understanding of this toxic fluoroquinolone . i think dr. Pieper also gives some lectures on this topic on youtube? Great book. Wish there was more! Thinking about buying a 2nd copy for my current doctor.

Finally, a book that you can recommend to your doctor, someone he will listen to because the author is a doctor who deals with patients who have had harmful adverse effects caused by fluoroquinolones such as Levaquin and Cipro and he offers extensive documentation as well as advice. Pieper backs up his patients experiences with well-documented studies as well as diagnostic and treatment criteria. A breath of fresh air in a field that has been largely lacking in attention to FQAD, a syndrome that has unnecessarily harmed hundreds of thousands of patients who have taken these antibiotics without knowing the risks.
