Filtra bastante bien, al menos evita que las partículas de cierto tamaño no se queden en las tuberías y por el precio totalmente recomendable

UPDATE as of 20-Nov-2018: I just removed this filter on 7-nov-2018, (installed 11-jul-2016.) THIS IS AN OUTSTANDING FILTER! Turns out I removed this filter for no good reason, our kitchen faucet was running slow, and so I just assumed the filter was gummed up. Nope! Replaced the filter, and the faucet still ran slow. Open the faucet up, and there was debris in it. (now of course the question is, where did debris come from, as the filter was still whole.) Anyway, I will now be buying these pentair filters. They have got more pleats, and I still do not know how long they will last in my situation, but we know they have "survived" approx 800 days, at least two town water flushing inervals, which usually stir up the sediment in my pipes, and clog the filter. ORIGINALLY WRITTEN July 11, 2016: This review is completely based on my personal observations of construction, I don't think homeowner consumers like me can really make accurate evaluations of performance without a lab. This is going to be my preferred filter for now on, unless it fails in less than a year (lets say before July 2017), and then I'll let you know. I bought this at the same time as the DuPont HDC3001 Universal Heavy Duty Whole House Pleated Poly Cartridge . The Dupont filter is OK, but certainly not better in construction. Ironically, if you look at the photos provided by the manufacturers, it looks like the Dupont filter has more pleats, and Pentair does not show the gasket I found on mine. See my attached photo. Why do I prefer this filter? - Inexpensive, it is almost as inexpensive as the Dupont filter. - More pleats, and more filter material. This has 78 pleats 1 1/2" deep, way more than the Dupont (and Whirlpool WHKF-WHPLBB) sediment filters (48 and 40 respectively). - The ends of the filter are more robust. The flanges that hold in the filter paper are much deeper, and Pentair includes black gaskets at both ends in addition to the hard plastic. Dupont and Whirlpool don't do that. I have town water, and really only need a sediment filter to prevent my clothes washer valves from getting gummed up with sediment which gets shaken loose from the pipes uphill from my house. This is manufactured in Mexico, which I prefer to made in China. By the way, this fits all standard 10"x4" water filter housings, my housing was made by GE, but they are standardized.
