I brought a philips pasta making machine and i am now obsessed with making pasta. Saw these and it gives me an extra 3 (there are 4 tips in the package but one is a duplicate of one already with the machine i brought) types of pasta. Yesterday made tagliatelle pasta with mushrooms (dried mushroom power and herbs in the pasta mix) and my son has asked that i do this again and would like to eat the same but without the chicken pieces (it was in a chicken, cream, garlic and lemon sauce with peas). These tips give me more options for the type of pasta i make which is brilliant. So today going to make the same but with the pappardelle attachment for him.

I purchased a second hand Phillips compact pasta machine and got these at a great used 'warehouse deals' price. All pieces were clean so I just did a quick hand wash and I wasn't worried about anything weird. I made separate batches with each shape. They all came out great and worked as great as the original attachments. Highly recommended if you have the machine and would like to make more pasta varieties. That said I pretty much only used the pasta machine for a couple months. Pasta comes out amazing but there's something EXTRA about the whole process. After you're comfortable with the process, it might be only 40 minutes of setting up and making the pasta then cleanup might be like 15-20 minutes mostly because dough gets caught in a couple crevices. The fresh pasta cooks in maybe 1/3 of the time vs dried pasta. I think it's a pain because you have to focus on the pasta so closely for the whole process and its frantic getting the fresh pasta out and in flour then quickly cooked and just the whole set up and cleanup. This is probably best if you enjoy cooking with a partner or family or think you're a chef or something but for myself at least I'm okay with going with dried pasta or paying the extra for premade fresh pasta.
