This is the top of the line model and the newest one available. FWIW, Some things are best researched on your own. If you go to www.3dconnexion.com they provide a much better explanation of their products and the differences than anyone could here on Amazon. Happy hunting.

Is this something for flight sims?

This controller can possibly be used for flightsims. However, this is a 6DOF mouse and it would most likely be better suited for space flight sims such as Elite Dangerous and Star Citizen. There are several YouTube videos of people who have done this and I plan on buying the SpaceMouse Pro as its larger base is more stable than the Spacemouse Wireless(Base) for my needs. This version has many too many buttons for me to use in a Space combat sim. But I think any of these versions will work.
