Ballet Cat Dance! Dance! Underpants! (Ballet Cat, 2)

The Ballet Cat series overall is simultaneously charming, heart-warming and irreverently funny. Done comic-book style, with speech balloons used for dialog, it’s nevertheless written in such a way that it allows for easy reading to young children. This installment is probably the most hysterical, while teaching children how to overcome shyness and reach their goals. And pay attention to the front and back end sheets: they actually relate to a sort of punchline at the end of the book. My daughter adores Ballet Cat, and, frankly, I love reading it to her. These books are new classics in children’s books.

Some of the bad reviews must be from people who are not around children or dance! I have been working with children for 30 years in and out of dance class. They talk about underpants all the time. Its not creepy, it's what kids talk about. This book is hysterical. I would highly recommend this book.

I do not think it was quite as solid as Ballet Cat and the Totally Secret Secret, but it is a nice, quick bedtime read with a little dose of underpants humor that gave my five-year old daughter the giggles.

Bought this for my niece (age 6) - it's hilarious and engaging, plus it teaches about friendship.

I have read the Ballet Cat books to a full class of 3rd graders and they love it. My preschooler also loves them. Bob's writing works for a wide variety of audiences and absolutely must be read aloud.
