Robust, easy to install
I used this remote switch to replace a pair of wall switches. The existing switches (two switches ganged in one box) would be inaccessible behind a tall cabinet once we finished moving furniture around. I installed the two remote modules after removing the existing toggle switches from the electrical double-gang box and mounted the double remote “toggle” switch nearby but in a fully accessible location. The electronic switch modules are smaller than the legacy toggle switches, so they fit nicely in the electrical box. The remote modules each have a small red & a green LED which indicates if the switch is in the ON (green) or OFF (red) mode. Although in most installations you probably won’t be able to see these LEDs, they do help in confirming that you’ve wired up everything correctly. Note that in order to install these inside a switch box, you MUST have white (neutral) wires inside the box. If there is no white wire(s) inside the box, the remote module will have to be installed at the fixture instead. The included switches which activate the remote modules use no batteries at all, which is extremely clever and useful. No batteries to replace, as other remote switches have! On this double-gang set, the two toggles are made slimmer so that TWO toggles fit in the space of ONE toggle, which is another huge plus: the double switch unit is exactly the same width as a single standard switch, and a standard “Decora” switch plate could be used instead of the included one, so you install the switch with any switch plate from Home Depot, Lowes, etc. The switch itself is very shallow so if you want you could simply screw the switch & switch plate assembly onto the wall directly (no box needed) or use the enclosed double-sided tape. As the entire switch assembly is so shallow and only sticks out a little from the wall, it looks fine surface mounted. The whole shebang is made in the US, and is of a very high quality. Even the wires are stranded, tinned copper; being so flexible makes it easier to install. Highly recommend this remote switch!

Less expensive that paying an electrician
This is a great little device that avoids having to pay an electrician to run a dedicated wire through existing walls. You still do have to do some wiring on the receiving end - whatever you are wanting to control, but the switch itself can be installed in minutes and works great.

Works Perfectly! Great for Vacation Rentals & Home Upgrades!
While this is definitely not a cheap way to add a secondary/remote switch, this is a terrific switch system--the best in my opinion and well worth the cost. It feels extremely sturdy and well crafted. For my use, I needed it to provide a light switch at a front door for a vacation rental so guests don't have to blindly walk across the room looking for a light switch in the dark. I ordered a tree-way system (to retain control at the original location too) and replaced the switch in a triple-bank of switches (see picture--fits and looks perfect --the one labeled "Counter/NL" and were able to fit the receiver/controller in the box behind the switch. The second remote switch was installed by the front door, surface mounted (mounting plate was included). As I am not onsite and don't live nearby, I didn't want the risk of batteries failing in between my maintenance visits and this switch seemed to fit the bill. Well, it does, hands-down, and I have full-faith that it will last for a very long time based on it's quality of construction. The concept, design and quality are second to none. $200 well spent for peace of mind and liability. Thank you for a well built, American-made product! This is my honest opinion/review, having purchased, installed and currently using the switch system; If you find my review helpful, please clink the "Helpful" button below, thank you.

Just works
This is the perfect light switch. If you are replacing a ceiling light that has a pull cord with a ceiling light that does not have a pull cord. It certainly is expensive, but much less expensive than having someone run new wires from your ceiling to your wall. The only thing you have to make sure of is that there is enough room, either in the ceiling or in the base of the ceiling light itself to accommodate the receiver. Let’s set this light switch apart from other cheaper models is that it has no batteries. It uses the force of you, pressing the toggle switch to power the switch, which can be mounted on a wall anywhere because it is wireless. I was afraid it would feel like one of those old light switches from the 70s where it required a lot of forest depress it but it feels just like any other switch. If you are mounting this next to another light switch, the Leviton light switches with a Decora wall plate matches the run less wire switches pretty well. You may also want to get a wall plate Riser, because The Room switches may be thicker than most other switches.

Works exactly as described - but does required basic electrical knowledge
Works exactly as described. I purchased this specifically because I did not want to have to change batteries in light switches. Please be aware that to wire this requires some electrical knowledge, you will be wiring to your home wiring. Also, I would highly recommend using a separate junction box, if possible, that would allow you to see the controller and its small buttons so you can reprogram switches without taking down your light fixture. Our solution used a metal junction box with the control mounted to the outside, the box and controller both easily accessible.Another reason we decided to go with this solution was the flexible use of additional switches. We have a large area that we want to light in zones. We have one controller for each of these zones, and then a switch to turn on the zone close to it's entrance. Its an open floor plan area without doors, but distinct areas. We are able to program an additional switch that will turn all zones on and off at the same time (IE trigger all four switch controllers). You are still able to turn on or off any of the zones independently with their switch. This isn't possible with a hard wired solution, and a smart house solution using wifi/app controller was (in my opinion) making things a little to complicated.
