Laila Longer Basmati Rice, 10Kg

The rice is the nicest tasting I’ve had!The grains are much longer than usual.

MY FIRST QUICK COOK TEST!Rice separates beautifully. See my Katsu fridge raid veg curry pic!For this quick testing to gauge it's initial performance , I simply used one chefs ladle of rice into a big saucepan, add running cold water and rinse a couple minutes.Fill pan with cold water, 1 inch from top of pan, salt water, stir with silicone spatula, lid on , high heat .Bring water to a rapid boil.Be around to catch boiling point .When rapidly boiling stir gently with spatula, TURN HEAT OFF.Put The Lid back On, time x4 minutes. After time , stir gently again, then drain in colander, let the rice rest for 15 minutes in the colander, put a lid on the colander, (anything to trap the residual steam of the hot rice , as that steam will finish it off cooking and aid perfect separation)You can cook a quick Katsu curry in that time. "Yes Chef!" 😀It's the first time I used Katsu curry paste too. Easy quick. Very economical. (Bulk buy 10 packs)As pic shows , the rice has lovely separate grains , you do not need to nudge these rice grains around to separate ,they just get on with it themselves! I'll be buying more prime week.I'll also do a video when I next cook it at weekend. This does cost a few quid more but , if you like decent rice that performs , you of course deserve it. It's still excellent value and nutrition. 🙏£16 for 10 kilo bag prime week, is a very good price for the quality you get. I intend to buy another 20 kilos this week.Thank you seller and Amazon. After using this Laila Gold Superior Longer Basmati Rice (10kg) for about three months, it has been very consistent and works well for dishes like pilaf where separate grains are important.The grains cook long and light, without becoming sticky. That texture works well for dishes like pilaf where separate grains are preferred. Lovely rice and lasts a long time. By far the most economical way to buy rice as long as you have somewhere to store it.

Have used Laila basmati before, but this is the first time using Extra long. Grains didn’t stick together and had a great taste.

Excellent rice & very lovely to cook I would definitely recommend

I've tried several basmati rice brands, and this is one of the best for the price. The grains cook up long, fluffy, and fragrant without turning sticky.It works really well with curries and biryani, and the quality has been consistently good every time I've bought it. Definitely a great everyday basmati rice.
