Probiotic strains are abundant. The alpha numeric combination after the species is the strain. It is possible to see various strains for each genus/species. The strain distinguishes what it has been studied for. For example, LA-14 has been studied to support gut health and immunity. Various species of Bifidobacterium bifidum have been used in clinical studies to support GI health. Multi Probiotic 40 Billion does not use a specifically studied strain for some of the species in the formula. We do not the species if applicable.
