HG Fluval 206 Motor Head Maintenance Kit

I had dismantled an aquarium about a year ago, so the filter had been sitting unused. When I finally got a new aquarium and set up the filter, it was hard to prime and then had a major leak because the o ring had gone bad. I think what I really needed was just the o ring but figured it didn't hurt to replace the impeller too. It was easy to install all the parts and the filter started up right away with no leaks. It has been working well so I am happy.

My existing 206 fluval started leaking for no apparent reason. I ordered this maintenance kit to see if at least one of the items would stop leak. I used all 3 and to my surprise no more leak. 💯 % was shocked.I ordered it in the middle of the night at 3 am when I could not sleep from my cell phone. This kit is the annual replace parts for the Fluval 206 pump. It's fairly easy to install. The original o-ring lasted about a year before it started to drip. The new one started to drip after about 2 months. I don't know if it's the o-ring or something inherent with the pump design. I put a little plumbers tape on it. Will see how that lasts.

Item was everything needed to fix my leaking 206. Works like new again, sealed watertight first time it was reassembled used on my 55 gal. Seller shipped the item super fast. Will probably keep an extra one handy for next time.Also for future reference, keep silicone grease handy and lube o-ring everytime you take it apart again, keeps it from leaking longer.
