Went right in
The fit was perfect for my 2007 Forester X. The rubber gasket was loose and had to be pressed back into place, but no big deal. Quality looks good but I will have to check toward the end of the oil fill cycle.

Item was fine and as described. I haven't used Fram in years and holy smokes the quality has dipped. Everything about this filter felt cheap. I'll be using a different one next time.

Fram, my Go To brand
I’ve been using Fram oil filters for years and really like the way they perform. I also like the grippy outer surface which makes changing the oil so much easier, faster and stress-free. Just don’t over-tighten and you’ll be OK. Wet the circular rubber gasket with a small amount of fresh oil before spinning it on. Check to make sure the old gasket is not stuck on before putting on the new filter. These are rated for 10k as is my synthetic oil, although I am a bit leery about waiting that long and will change it before that mileage. I always do my own oil changes, since I’ve had a bad experience in the past with a shop stripping the threads on the oil pan. I like knowing the condition of the oil, checking the bottom of the car to see if any issues and knowing the oil level and type are correct for my car. I recommend these Fram filters.

Die Qualität eines Ölfilters objektiv zu bewerten ist nahezu unmöglich, in Mexiko im Land des Volkswagen findet der Filter für den VW 1600i eine breite Anwendung, dort werden noch überwiegend in diversen Hinterhöfen die Servicearbeiten in Eigenregie erledigt und man kann sich getrost auf den großen Erfahrungsschatz der Anwender anlehnen. Dieser Fram-Filter wird beim nächsten Ölwechselservice meines VW 1600i angeschraubt. Äußerlich betrachtet ist der Filter gut verarbeitet, die schwarze Gummierung ist sicher hilfreich um den handfesten Anzug zu gewährleisten.
