Best Breadmaking Machine Available
I had never made bread by hand. I’ve always wanted to but lacked the confidence to try. I believe this stems from my bitter childhood experiences with authoritarian home economic teachers who would shout and punish you for the slightest mistakes made which has in turn left me to fear anything to do with cooking. But when I put my mind to it, I can follow simple recipes, and with a hankering to try my hand at bread making whilst avoiding my lack of knowledge of how to make dough, I decided a bread making machine was the way to go. So, I went for the plunge and brought the best model out there, the Panasonic YR2540. I can now confidently make bread whilst avoiding the laborious mixing, kneading, proving, and baking as it can be all done by my bread machine. All I have to do is weigh out a few simple ingredients and let the machine do all the work.My confidence in baking has drastically improved since I got this machine. I can now make many types of bread with maximum flavour and minimal fuss or stress. This machine has over 30 settings allowing you to make whole choice of breads from simple white and traditional wholemeal loafs to speciality breads made with flours such as spelt and rye, gluten free, and all manner of flavoured breads. It also has a cake mixing and cake backing settings allowing you to make all types of cakes. You can also use ready made bread mix and cake mix that you can buy from the supermarkets. This model also has an automatic yeast dispenser, and a fruit and nut dispenser. Plus, it has a timer so you can wake up to the smell of freshly made bread. The instruction booklet has many recipes. These are also available on the Panasonic website which are good but the recipes are not that easy to follow as aimed more for the American market. There is however a conversion chart on the website which helps you to convert US named flour types to UK ones. I tend to follow recipes provided in a really good book called “Brilliant Breadmaking In Your Bread Machine” by Catherine Atkinson, which is easier to follow as the recipe ingredients and measurements are for the UK market.Overall, I highly recommend the Panasonic YR2540 bread machine as its one of the best. Now I can fill my home with the wonderful aroma of freshly backed bread! The only negative point was the delivery as it arrived without being inside a delivery box. I don’t like this because I don’t want anyone seeing what’s been delivered to me. An outer box helps to protect the original box which in my case arrived with the corners crushed in. Luckily the item within the original packaging wasn’t damaged!

Fantastic bread maker
I had a bread maker before it never worked. My sister in law has this bread maker we were so impressed by the simplicity of the machine and simple instructions. We use the 50/50 half whole meal have white flour, we have found 75 percent whole meal 25 percent white flour works amazing. If you get this bread maker you will not be sorry.

Not Just a Flash in the Pan!
A very sleek and stylish piece of kitchen equipment - the new YR2540 Panasonic breadmaker.Call me shallow but it was the glossy black and dark grey shades that lured me in with its completely new showy shape plus I had the perfect counter top resting place for it when not in action. It’s a big machine and you won’t want to keep lugging it out of a cupboard! The problem I had was with the very short power cord - nowhere in my kitchen could I use this state of the art bread maker where it was free from overhanging cupboards. Maybe if the manufacturers could have given 5cm more lead all would have been perfect! The answer was a strong 1metre extension lead from Amazon which thankfully could be placed unobtrusively. The next problem, very difficult to extract pan from the machine both before and after baking. I have had two previous Panasonic bread makers so I know how the pan fits in.Thank you Dody for your reply to this problem - which was to wait a few minutes to let pan cool down slightly. It worked! Also a very strange thing - when unpacking there was a mark on front of machine when I’d taken off plastic wrap. I tried very carefully to remove with soft damp cloth but it didn’t budge and so left it. Amazingly since baking two loaves it has disappeared! These notes are for people that may experience the same problems. I’d not had these before with either of my machines….one still working even but I wanted to keep up with the times not to mention appearances!Other people have spoken about their successes with the many options of baking this Panasonic can deliver - very inspiring I must say and I look forward to doing the same.

Machine good, instructions poor.
Does the job well but the instructions firstly could be laid out better, and made much easier and clearer to follow. The instructions for wholemeal bread need additional water and additional yeast.

Great bread every time
Having never made bread before, I thought i would give this a go and I'm super happy. This machine does it all, throw the ingredients in the bowl, then the yeast in the lid, push a couple of buttons and it does the rest. I have cooked 2 loafs so far and both came out perfect. Absolutely amazing, would recommend to anyone who likes the idea of fresh bread but never get round to doing it. It is so simple and no mess, just rinse the bowl at the end.

Poor quality Buyer beware!
This is my 2nd Panasonic bread maker. Bought this one just over 2 years ago & it makes lovely bread. That said the non stick lining is wearing off all over the surface.I bake mainly multiseed bread & these days only sporadically. No, I never ever use abrasive products to clean.I simply fill the pan with warm soapy water & leave it for a while before washing out with a soft dishcloth.I have never had anything stick to the pan that required any effort to remove. On top of this poor quality finish I find that to replace said pan it will cost £131 !!No other make comes close to this cost.I will not be buying a replacement.I will not buy Panasonic products again.I will not recommend Panasonic ever.I feel totally let down by this brand.
