Affordable, high-quality print, easy to manage (most of the time)
There are three parts to my experience of this product, and though I'm only meant to be writing about the printer itself, it would be impossible to isolate HP+ and the software required to use it.PRINTERThe printer itself is incredibly easy to use, with unfussy paper and document feeds and a no-fuss glass plate scanner which works quietly and quickly. My last printer was a very fussy Pixma and, in comparison, this piece of kit is significantly easier to use, load and maintain. The print quality is good enough for us to have printed out photos onto normal paper for framing, and the printer will print large documents efficiently and quickly. It's very quiet when it's at work so you don't have to worry about the background hum interrupting phonecalls and the like. It's nice to have a very straightforward, simple way to load paper and to be able to scan bundles of documents at once. Similarly, the ink cartridges are easy to orient and load, though the first stout "CLICK" was a little unnerving!SOFTWARE AND SET-UPTo set it up, you need to log it onto your wireless network and then find it in your network on your device, which can seem a bit fussy if you've never had to do it before, but does mean you only need to do it once and then it's sorted.I can understand why some people might find the setting up process a bit of a pain, especially as it relies so heavily on Bluetooth AND wi-fi. The only thing I can say is to get a cuppa and work through it slowly, starting with turning on Bluetooth on your phone while downloading the HP app and taking it from there.Setting it up on a static PC is actually a little more difficult and requires you to download software from 123.hp.com and then it can be a bit mystifying to get the printer visible on your machine, particularly if it's already part of your network.HP+Truly the biggest hang up I have about printers is the cost of ink replacement and good quality paper. I don't print often and, on my last printer, found the sudden cost-hit of cartridges to be really expensive. Plus they couldn't be reused or recycled and it all just felt incredibly wasteful. It's good to see that HP have given this thought and developed a monthly subscription model that factors in the cost of your ink. But it's actually far more than that - your ink gets delivered to you automatically, you send back the old cartridges for refill and reuse and they even allow you to roll over unused pages to the next month of your plan.On top of that, I've got about 9 free months of ink = allowing up to 700 pages a month to be printed (colour and black and white) - which is an incredibly good deal for what will end up being £4 for the whole year.CONCLUSIONGetting 2 desktops, 2 phones and a laptop to be able to connect to the printer was a bit annoying and, particularly the laptop, very frustrating. However, once done, the app allows you to print from literally anywhere (a friend of ours who is also my son's English tutor printed a Christmas greeting from the other side of the country!), and allows you to easily track how much ink is left, how many pages you've printed, whether a new ink delivery is on the way and so on.The printer itself is quiet, efficient and easy to use, and has been surprisingly enjoyable to use once everything was sorted, and signing up to HP+ is the cherry on top as I don't feel I'll be hit with £40 cartridge costs out of the blue anymore, while knowing that sustainable wood and cartridge recycling is all part of the service.Really happy.

Easy to use and setup
When the printer arrived it came with an easy to read instruction booklet and didn't take a lot to set up. I did the set up from my phone (I did have to download two apps) and it only struggled to connect when I was having low internet signal. I like the ease of printing straight from my phone and having a preview of what the image will look like. At first I used a very thin paper and even then the quality was great, considering how thin it was. I then tried with a thicker photo paper and it was perfect for printing photos. The scan and copy feature was simple to use and will be very useful for work. The connectivity is something I have had a few issues with but have put that down to my own personal internet speed from my router. I would definitely recommend this printer, especially for someone wanting to print mainly from their phone. It light to move around and it's too large so fits easily into my office. Having dealt with a lot of temperamental printers in the past I am glad to say this printer has worked consistently each time I've needed it. I also love the HP instant ink, i don't need to go out and search for the ink in store and I know I will have some in the house, also the return packaging for the used ink is very useful too. Which I will definitely continue to use, however I don't usually leave my printer on, and the subscription cannot work unless it connects to the printer, this is something to bear in mind when choosing instant ink which I need to remember. Otherwise it's a great option to have as I don't need to worry about having ink in my flat.

good product
My Printer was extremely easy to set up, all you need to do is download app and connect to your wifi router, setup is pretty straight forward. Prints are very good quality, better quality takes more time. so if you are heavy user and you need high quality prints, it might be a little problem. price of cartridges are average, at the moment i cannot tell how long they last for. during my research i’ve discovered option to subscribe ink. Printer automatically orders new ones when needed. I do like this idea a lot. device does not make a lot of noise during printing, scanner is pretty quick and quality of scans is very good. I was testing my device on macbook pro, both devices worked together with no problems. If you scan a lot you can find very useful feature which is automatic feed tray for scanning. Overall quality of printer is very good for the price and i would recommend it for regular users

Get help, if your like me, tech, stranger.
I had a very difficult time setting up, as I am not very computer informed. Asked a friend to assist, machine started to push paper through but did not print. Friend went away, came back and still no joy. Following day I had a fiddle and it is now working fine. I have not got a clue what I did, but it works. So my advice is get help before you start.

Don’t buy this
I have had this for two years and used it only a few times. Set up was a nightmare you have to have the app!The ink that came with it printed out a few pages that were of very poor quality. Then it flashes in is low and yet you remove the cartridges and they still have ink inside but it just won’t print unless you put new hp cartridges inside and they last only a few pages before it says low again!I don’t leave my printer on because it’s big so it is only used when needed but that can’t happen because each time it’s a drama to get it going ! I have been using HP printers for over 20 years and previous ones have been great and printed loads of pages . Unlike this new version which falls very short of the mark and quality is absolutely appalling.not worth the money and I have no intention of getting another one .
