Fire Starter for Outdoor Camping

It works... Enough material to prime tinder and still plenty left for hundreds of uses

Usually I take a standard lighter for use with my MSR when camping. I hiked at high elevation with a lot of condensation rendering my lighter useless. I couldn’t get it to ignite my burner. I’m so grateful I had gotten this flint fire starter. It saved me. I was able to have my dinner and in the morning able to have my coffee and breakfast. I love it because it’s also very small and lightweight. It will no doubt not be as easy to use or as large sparks as some other larger rods but it’s only $6.50….

The striker on this ferro rod takes some practice to achieve large sparks. I think a different striker would work better however, this will work and a good item to have while hiking.

Very convenient and works well. I will add this fire starter to my field pack. We often take trips out into the bush for hunting, fishing, camping, trapping, or just scouting. We like to have a nice assortment of emergency equipment along for insurance for an unexpected incident. This little fire starter is a great addition and I tried it out as soon as I received it and it worked beautifully. Never a bad thing to have with on any adventure!

Works but handle came off

Discoloration on the outside of the tube when I wipe with paper towel.

There are great. Sturdy material, nice little compass on top. Have not used for long, but easily able to get a spark from. I ordered two.
