The teachers' resource is non-existent
The email contact provided for teachers' resource does not exist. The collection of documents is OK although it is not useful for students to learn from this book without a teacher putting in tremendous amount of effort.

The selections are excellent. Very relevant
This is an exceptionally thoughtful document reader. The selections are excellent. Very relevant. Well edited to be manageable length. Many document readers dump the whole primary source in and it becomes overwhelming for the novice student. These selections are in the half page to a page length category. But the best feature of the book--and what makes it truly outstanding--is the care the authors have tKen to initiate novice writers into the skills of historical thinking and analysis. It is almost unique in this regard. In fact, I am seriously tempted to think about bagging my textbook for 2016-17 (Henretta 8th), and use this plus Amsco and some supplemental speeches and scholarly articles in its stead!! I can easily see that a year spent working through here documents and assignments would turn almost any APUSH student into a superb historical writer. Really, it's that good! I think it would go a long ways to get kids off the regurgitation model for class and force them to THINK much more seriously about the IDEAS of the course. I'm really interested in the reaction of other readers--especially those who teach APUSH.
