Work well with the rubber stopper. Seemed durable.

These are perfect and even better at the price. Just make sure you drill your holes to 1/2” for the grommet so the airlocks fit into the grommets.

The airlocks work great. The big thng to be careful about is using on thin metal caps and the size of the hole for the grommet. I didn't have a drill so I punched a hole in the cap and then used a rat tail file to enlarge the hole. On one the hole was a little too small and when I pushed the airlock into the grommet (after inserting into hole) it resulted in the cap cutting completely through the grommet. On another the hole was a little too big so the seal wasn't that great. But I had plenty of caps. Note: If your wondering about the orange liquid in the airlock, well, that happens when there's too much liquid in the jar and once gas is produced during the fermentation process liquid can get forced into the airlock. The airlock still does its job, just with a little extra (colored) liquid. 😁

Good little kit. It even came with extra set of rubber gaskets for ceiling for each for putting them into the top of containers which was very considerate. And appreciated of the manufacture, those things are really hard to come by, especially when you've used these things. 4 or 5 times and been throwing things around. I've done 6 ferment cycles of kimchi, cucumbers, and other veggies with them so far. Works great. Prevents kahm yeast from forming, even on cucumbers.

These work very well for fermenting vegetables! I make my own lids to put them in by using a drill to make a hole in the top of plastic lids. Go slow with the drill so that you don't crack the lids.

I ordered this after reading the most recent reviews since there seemed to be no complaints on the small grommet size issue. Unfortunately, my order came with the small grommets. Fortunately I had some larger grommets. For those interested, a 1/2 inch grommet worked, just over half of the valve stem protruded through the bottom of the grommet once installed in the lid. You also need to drill a 5/8 inch hole for the grommet. I'm thinking you'd want a tighter fit, a 7/16" would work better, but I don't have one, maybe in the future. The valve works great, the three stars were for the small grommets still shipping with it.
