In short, the chip arrived in a timely manner and worked without a problem. At this point I've only had the chip in the computer for one day, but it's doing exactly what I hoped it would. Review: Great for the money! - This was a nice upgrade from a dual-core Wolfdale 3.06GHz CPU I had before. For the price, it multi-tasks well and improves game performance in games that utilize 4 threads. The game that got the best performance bump was BeamNG Drive. I have had this processor for a while now and it hasn't given me any issues. Just be sure to have a descent power supply to power the hungry beast!

Exactly as advertised
Arrived in perfect condition; it was packed in a way that it would have to be run over by a truck to damage it. Once installed using standard practices for a CPU, it passed all tests and is running rock solid.

INSPECTION STICKER OVER CIRCUTS ?
Spooky the thing came in with what looks like a Quality control STICKER OVER the chips on the backside of the CPU so, I spend a half hour getting that off the nooks &crannies of all those tiny procAmps and resistors, I have to think Heat and humidity could mess with the componets, as well as dust eventually sticking to the sticky side of the inspection sticker and also changing values between conductors, which I have seen in the past , just blowing dust off those chip legs can help a computer work better or stop locking up. MOST folks would be smart enough to peel off the sticker if placed on the top side to put the heat sink paste on. This processor so far seems faster even with it showing slower clock speed , since it has a 12MB buss instead of a 6MB buss of the CPU I swapped out. SO , no harm done as yet.

Look up your PC specs for the max upgrade compatibility.
Does a good deal as well as noticing the difference on performance. My PC is 8yrs old and it was a great boost to say the least. I can play today games at almost flawlessly. I know this processor is temporary, till I get an updated PC soon with today's high end processors for this year games. Neither to say, this is a good processor for a low budget price.

Make Sure You Update BIOS First!
All motherboards are different, especially the older ones. And I have an older Maximus Formula that was just shy of a trick to update. So just make sure you do if you need to before installing the chip. At any rate, she sure runs smooth and perky with 4 on the floor just using the stock cooler is good enough without overclock. You can't beat a used CPU as usually are the last to fail and of good value. Was well worth the money going up from e8400. And the company was also great & reputable that sent it JSM, was only a few days!

Be careful. Very disappointed!
Have not installed this Q9550. I chose "Buy New" when ordering, but the proc I received is damaged. I had to remove thermal compound (TIM) to verify processor identity--- no packing slip, no invoice. I saw and felt a large deformity atop the metal cap. It didn't come off rubbing with cotton swabs and alcohol, nor does come off using a plastic TIM spatula. This processor was used. I've see dozens of new processors; none like this. This hassle makes it a bad purchase

Gg intel, you did this just right
Great condition, PnP, for boards that support it. Performance is on-par with modern-day laptop CPUs, such as the i5-6200u, which is 2c/4t. This, being 4c/4t, it's Single core performance is a little more exaggerated, as each core will have 100% scp, versus the i5, which will probably have around 50% scp per thread. All-in-all, still a very reliable cpu, almost a decade from it's release date (Q1'08).
