Good quality and neat looking for cargo shorts
First, these fit snug for their size. They are not a size smaller but they are on the borderline. I blindly bought 3 pair never having tried the brand or style in person. The fit between all three is consistent. I own a lot of cargo pants from different manufacturers, most are Quicksilver or Macy's Club Room. The Lee Dungarees fit tighter than the other pairs I have. However they are not so tight that I cannot wear them. They will stretch a little and shrink a little with time so keep this in mind when you order. The quality is very good. They feel comfortable yet strong. They seem like they will hang neater on you than others. Some cargo shorts look very sloppy. These are an ideal length to me. The cargo pockets are an adequate size. For some reason the hip pockets are made from a thin material. I don't know the motivation for it. Maybe it promotes a better look or is cooler without the bulk? The cargo pockets have a buttoned flap pocket and the right side has an additional zippered pocket slightly above the buttoned flap. The left hip pocket has a coin pocket. The belt works effectively and is not bulky. One color "Military" is not what I would expect of the name. I think of a military color as either a green or a tan. This is a cool brown. I like the color but it was not what I expected. It looks like the picture but pictures can be deceiving. The actual color could have been greener like I expected in person. Fortunately this color goes well with some shirts I have.I bought three pair and I'd order more of these if they had colors I did not already have. If these are still available I will order more when my shorts are worn out and ready to be replaced.

awesome shorts!
Updated Review 4/10/14: I just bought 2 more of the Lee Compound Zipper Cargo in "military" color and 2 in "smoke camo." Just a quick note - the smoke camo do fit just a bit larger in the waist than the other colors - and that's consistent with all 3 pairs I have. All my 30" Lee cargo shorts fit are just short of 'snug,' and the smoke camo have a little wiggle room. Hope that helps! Of the two styles I purchased I prefer the Lee Compound over the Wyoming. The compound zipper is a little lighter weight material and they don't feel heavy on me. I rarely wear my wyoming shorts, but wear the compound zipper all the time... so I bought 4 more pair. Still love 'em!-------------Original Review:The waist on the 30" fit my waist, but I have thick thighs & glutes, so I went with the 32" and they are absolutely perfect. The 32" hits right at my knee, perfect fit through the thighs, and just the perfect amount of room in the waist. NOTE on the color: Military is more of a brownish hue than green. If you're looking for a green military short, go with the 'Jungle' color in the "Wyoming" Lee Cargo. Both the "Wyoming" and the "Compound" are 100% cotton and shrink just a smidge, but the "Compound" feels like a slightly lighter weight than the "Wyoming" and the cargo pockets have a different layout. I'd suggest trying one of each and seeing which you like best. I ended up with 2 pair of "Compound" and 5 pair of "Wyoming". I LOVE them!

Good shorts for the money
These shorts are good quality, but not perfect. I feel this product still deserves 5 stars because for the price they are very nice. They are made from a rip stop-like material but they are not as durable as true rip stop fabric. They fit very well. I am almost always a 33" waist in jean and a 36" inseam - I ordered the 33" waist. These shorts fit great in the waist and hit me right at the knees when standing. The material is light and easy to move in. The stitching seems solid at all failure points. I like the many pockets that are available for gear and every day items. The rear pockets are a little shallow if you have a larger wallet, but will still close and Velcro, but just not real well. My only complaint is the main pockets (not the cargo pockets) are made with a thin material sewn into the pocket. I foresee this getting holes in the future from keys poking through, pocket knives wearing on it, or just shoving you hands in them all the time. Other than that issue I really like then. They will be great for warm weather fun, I just need to know their limitations concerning rugged use.

Comfortable shorts
Outside of an older pair of Lee cargo shorts that I was attempting to find (with no luck), these are my second favorite pair. They're comfortable, not too long (guys don't like wearing capri-like shorts), and well-priced. I only have two knocks on them, which are minor at best:1. The ends of the pocket covers tend to kink up after being washed, since the velcro is in the center of each pocket. You can iron them back down, but ain't nobody got time for that2. The belt is way too rigid. I use the belt from my older pair of cargo shorts to get around thisOverall, a four star product, and I'm glad I bought two. In fact, I should probably buy another two in case something happens to these two and Lee stops making them...

Summary: Great buy - Would buy again. Loose fitting but not baggy. Roomy pockets for storage.
These shorts were a great buy. I'm 6' tall and about a 35" waist. I purchased the 36" waist and they hit right at the middle of the knee and the waist size is very comfortable. They fit as expected. The overall construction of these jeans is high quality and I would feel comfortable going on a hike wearing them. The variety and placement of the pockets offer a convenient place to store belongings on the while on the go. My nexus 5 fits perfectly in the main pockets without feeling like it will fall out when I sit down.Lee makes great cargo shorts.Summary: Great buy - Would buy again. Loose fitting but not baggy. Roomy pockets for storage.
