Excellent vise and very flexible
Should have bought this years ago. Like to carve small figurines and mounting the raw wood to this vise makes the process easier and safer. The base and attachments make it easy to rotate the wood into virtually any position and once there it will hold it in place. As you can tell from the photo I mounted the base to a piece of plywood and then clamped the plywood to the bench. This is very sturdy and I can even hammer on the chisels and it does not move so accuracy is great. I purchased model 301 which includes the 300 base and model 303 vise. I also purchased the model 337 flat head which is in the picture. Since the mouth of the model 303 vise is fairly small (maybe opens to 2 1/4 inches) it was too small for me as figurines are simply too big for it but the flat head works great. Something to think about if you're buying this. Bottom line is this is a very reasonably priced and well made product with lots of options for attachments. Should last for many years.

Outstanding quality, excellent design, and made in the USA! What more do you need to know?
I got two of these model 301s and one model 201 vises to facilitate working on a model ship I'm starting on. I read the few negative reviews at Amazon on both models but went ahead with the purchase because I prefer to buy American on those extremely rare instances where it's possible. Bam! Score! Both models are exquisitely well made and functional. They do exactly what I need for them to do and I couldn't be happier. Excellent quality. One "feature" I needed was the option to mount these to a board I could move around my work table. Most other options were the kind that c-clamped to a table top. Those would not work for me. That narrowed down the field as well. I need to clamp both ends of the keel of my 48" model ship to a fixture that will allow me to move the ship around while I work on various parts of the ship. That's what the model 301's will be used for - attached to either ends of a 1" thick MDF base. This 201 will be used to hold individual smaller parts while I'm working on them - masts, spars and the like. Expensive compared to the off-shore models offered in great numbers at this site? Yes, they are. Worth every penny? Indeed!

Fantastic hobbiest tool
This vice is incredibly useful for any light to moderate duty tasks. It has served me very well in both soldering and using a rotary tool for cutting. I combined it immediately with the PanaVise 308 weighted base to bring it up from 3 pounds to a total of 8. The installation was trivial, and has meant this vice simply does not budge or tilt over. It also raises the vice so that the head can be positioned handle-up while the jaws are horizontal. One relatively simple modification I would like to make to the vice would be to add a thumbscrew that would keep the head's handle from sliding around, but the vice is perfectly usable without such a change. Overall, a great tool to have on hand!

Great Quality, made in USA!
Good for relatively tiny work, but sturdy enough, decent price. I am pleased I could find USA made vise in 2024!

Might be the best of the best
I have had this vise for about 15 years, and just added another to my truck's toolbox. It may be the best vise for soldering and working with electronic components. It holds firm, is easy to manipulate, and is as tough as nails. Can't say a single bad thing about these little guys. Built like a tank and works for everything from soldering "D" and XLR connectors up to holding circuit boards firmly in place. Awesome little tool!

Works quite well for many tasks.
Panavise products are legendary in the electronics hobbyist community. And with good reason. These are just the right size for many small hobby projects and offer a lot of flexibility in positioning. They are also just the right weight. Heavy enough that they don't tend to slide around, but light enough that you can move them out of the way when not needed. They also have mounting holes so you can screw them to your work bench if desired. There are only a couple things I don't like about this product. First is that the position adjustment is a ball-head. That means you can adjust it in any direction by loosening one knob. This is nice if you have both hands free (one to loosen the knob and one to position the head. But if you only have one hand free and wand to make a small adjustment in one direction, it can be a pain. The other issue I have is that with the head in position where the adjustment knob and the jaw screw handle are both on the same side, they run into one another. Probably unavoidable with a ball head that has this much adjustment, but still annoying. Those issues are really not that major, and I still really like this product. I recommend it to anyone looking for a small vise for detail work.

Small but mighty
This thing is tiny. But for very delicate work, it is also essential. If you are doing work with tweezers, this is an essential tool. It is very versatile.
