Xtra Large Volumizer – Alcohol-Free Foam for Weightless Volume

I don’t even like mousse. Normally it makes my hair crunchy, stiff, and looking like it’s auditioning for a role as a dehydrated loofah. But COLOR WOW’s Xtra Large Volumizer? Different story. It gives volume without turning my curls into packing peanuts I also use the COLOR WOW Curl Cream and the COLOR WOW Texturizing Spray — and suddenly my curls are like, “Oh, we’re hydrated now? We’re behaving? We’re showing up to work?” I don’t even need hairspray anymore. The texturizing spray holds everything without making me feel like I shellacked my head. My hair went from “dry and sad” to “voluminous, defined, and actually alive.” The top has lift, the curls have bounce, and the whole thing looks like I finally stopped punishing my hair and started listening to it. COLOR WOW didn’t just fix my hair — it exposed the lies every other product told me. The second picture was taken at the salon — because yes, I brought my own products with me. Who does that? Me. A woman who knows what works. I have fine, naturally curly hair, and if you use the wrong product, it’s either frizz city or sad, limp noodles. Exhibit A: the first picture. My hairdresser took one look at my curls after using MY products and immediately turned into the paparazzi. She was impressed. Honestly? She’ll probably be a convert. Of course I have this on auto‑ship. My curls finally decided to behave, and I’m not risking a relapse. If this foam ever stops arriving, I’ll be standing on my porch like a Victorian widow waiting for a ship that never comes.

This is a perfect volumizer for your hair. It does not feel sticky or slick. It feels very lightweight in your hair and feels thicker and more full when dried. I have white/ gray thin hair and this makes it look so much fuller. I will make this an ongoing product in my hair care routine. Highly recommend.

Color Wow does give your hair volume and, with my thin, fine hair, that's saying something. What I particularly like is that it doesn't seem to leave a sticky residue on my hair and my hair is manageable, even the day after. What I'm not thrilled with is the overall staying power. It doesn't loose all the volume, but it doesn't deflate over the the next several hours. My hair is by no means flat; it's just not as fluffy as when I first styled it. I have to be honest, I like in the South where soul killing heat and humidity are with us from May to November. Toss that into the mix and Color Wow does a pretty good job, all things considered. Last gripe is that you can't treat this like a regular mousse. When it says to apply ample amounts, it means lots and lots of mousse. Therefore, a can doesn't last as long as you'd expect because not using a lot of it doesn't produce much volume at all. Bottom line is that Color Wow works. It provides lift for fine hair like mine and isn't greasy or sticky feeling. You just have to use a large amount of it to achieve that and accept that it isn't a match for humidity.

This works so well for my fine hair. It gives me a nice lift and the styling stays in place. I always struggle as I have a lot of fine hair and curls usually don’t stay. This makes my hair look fuller/thicker and I can wash every 3rd day instead of every day. Drys easy, no scalp irritation, scent is barely noticeable to me, dissipates quickly. A bottle lasts me a really long time so it’s worth it for me!

Really had higher hopes for this product - it does not do much for my fine, limp hair. Does not add much texture at all. The smell is nice though.

This product REALLY works. I was skeptical but wanted something to boost my straight, limp hair without making it feel dirty. I usually wash my hair every other day. I can actually go one more day without washing my hair and it still looks great. My hair is just below my chin. Rather than using 2-3 pumps, I've only used 1 pump which is the perfect amount. (I think you'd have to have a LOT of hair to use 2-3 pumps.) It really adds volume to my lifeless hair + I don't have to use as much hairspray. The one downside is that it's pretty pricey, but it's definitely worth it.

I was pleasantly surprised I liked this product. I have really thin, fine hair and anything I put on my roots look greasy. After using this it gives my hair volume and does not leave me greasy, it looks clean! It’s not a super difference of volume but for my thin flat hair it gives it a little something. You apply it to your head and blow dry. I try and blow dry upside down for more volume.

I like this volumizing foam pretty much! It’s easy to apply and work through damp hair. It does require maybe 4-5 pumps to cover your entire head if you have long hair however! I have fine, thin hair and it made it fluffy and fairly volumized. I had been using the Wow Dream Elixir but I thought I’d give this a go and honestly they achieved about equal results. It IS very expensive however! I got the small bottle cause I wasn’t sure if I’d like it and it was $13 I think! I have no idea what the ingredients are, I’m not overly concerned I don’t think they’re toxic or anything. It held my style into the next day with a blow-out so I’d say it’s pretty effective for hold! I’d give it a 4/5. I might repurchase a bigger one?!
