A nice idea, but not as good as it should be
The idea is great - a mouse that can be flattened for travel and which pops-up into a useful shape when required. Sadly, it just doesn't work, at least for me. The shape when popped-up leaves very little to grip at the sides. I realised this before I purchased the mouse, but I thought that gripping the edges of the device would be OK. Not for me. It's difficult to hold and manoeuvre. The touch surface seems well executed but the button action is confused. There is only one physically button as far as I can tell, and the mouse determines which click - left or right - by a combination of the touch on the touch surface and the depression of the surface - similar to the way an Apple Magic Mouse works. All I can say is that Apple gets it right and Microsoft doesn't quite cut it. A poorly responsive click. The for me the main killer was the communication over BLE. I'm using a very new PC with a great BLE card and I have no other problems with any other peripherals. I don't have RF interference problems - other BLE devices work great and I'm not running high bandwidth devices such as headphones. Even if I was, the mouse should be able to cope with this and other BLE mouse happily do. But this mouse seems to have issues with Bluetooth, leading to a very laggy and stuttering performance. Pointer movement is jerky, clicks are missed, when it does work it's laggy. In short, to use, it's really awful.
