Sturdy and powerful fan, don't let the plastic assembly fool you.
So, I'm using this fan as part of my custom built ventilation system in my basement room converted to a cigar room. I use it to suck the cigar smoke out through the window via the 6 inch hose and some ducting that goes out. I use it in conjunction with a duct fan that's hooked onto the HVAC ducting that acts as an intake fan for the same room. What I like.1. The speed controller comes attached. No need to purchase one separately.2. Durable. I had a mishap where I accidentally dropped it from 7 feet to a concrete floor. No problems, turned it on and fired right up. It's plastic on the outside, but the fan itself has some good heft to it.3. Powerful. This thing cleans out a room fast. You can watch the smoke going from the cigar a good distance away in the room as it goes right to the area of the fan. What I don't like:1. This thing is loud. But, that's the compromise. If you want a proper fan that will do the job, noise will be on the table. That all said, it's not loud enough to drown out conversation or music on a small speaker in the room. Further, it's powerful enough to run on low and still keep the room clear with one or two cigar smokers. In all, this being part of my ventilation system saved me hundreds of dollars by not buying a rabbit, or any other overpriced smoke eater. Good price, quality fan.

Powerful, Quiet, Well built
Bought this to replace a chintzy 6 inch inline fan that was squealing. It Arrived quickly, well package, and moves air very efficiently. It is quiet and well built. Mounting plate is easily installed and holds the fan securely. Everything about this fan is 5 star BUT, I just installed it, so I can speak for it's longevity. Based on everything else, I would guess this fan will last a long time and work well the entire time. I'm glad I paid a little extra for it and would make this purchase again.

Does what it says.
It moves air very well and seems to be holding up nicely. However, the noise is not whisper quite. The fan controller on it allows it to be turned down, making it less noisy, but moving less air. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the purchase and would buy another should the need arise. There are no quieter fans on the market, so if you need circulation, you'll get noise. Also, it has a very aesthetic curb appeal.

Makes the upstairs so much more comfortable!
Installed in-line on a 6-inch HVAC duct to increase airflow to the second floor bedrooms due to too cold in winter/too hot in summer issues.Pros: super easy to install- 45 minutes or less if you’re handy- longer if in a tight or confined space. Very inexpensive fix if you have an upstairs that is too hot/too cold due to poor HVAC volume on upper floors.Cons: really not any. Since sound travels in the ductwork he may consider it loud, however it’s about the same as having a fan running in your room. This is the ideal model if you’re trying to push more air to a bedroom. If you plan to install yourself, buy yourself BOTH left AND right handed tin-snips to cut out the duct work you plan to install it in. Note you can also cut into ductwork with a utility knife, though only recommended for initial cut. Connect the ends with flashing tape to make things easy.I bought this model to duct to all the upstairs bedrooms (4) and now it’s like an icebox up there in the summer. Running our central air no more than before we’ve managed lower the upstairs temperatures by 10 degrees easily- making it so much easier to sleep. I was originally going to upgrade the central air, but that was a multi thousand dollar change – this was in much better solution.Note- install these as close to the blower as possible- ideally right off the trunk line. Also HIGHLY RECOMMENDED- buy and connect to smart plugs that you can control via app or google home/Alexa. That will allow you to easily turn on and off without having to go to the basement every time you want to turn them on/off, and also allows you to set them to a timer through an app so you don’t have to run them all the time. I only run them from 7-9 at night when the A/C begins to cool the house for the evening.

VIVOSUN has a great warranty
I installed this fan at my mother's house at the end of about 20 feet of flexible ducting to remove my stepfather's pipe smoke. It worked great at first and had enough oomph to remove all the smoke. However, after two months of about 8-hours a day of use, my mother reported it made a strange noise and stopped running. VIVOSUN gave me a full refund quickly. When I was able to get to my mother's to replace the fan, I discovered a piece of paper had been sucked into it to jam the motor and cause it to burn out. I'm reaching out to VIVOSUN to see if I can reverse the refund.

Great for moving large volumes of air!
I bought this fan to suck the air off of my fiber laser when engraving things such as plastic or wood. This fan really has some suction. There have been times when it has sucked a piece of paper from across my desk into it! I highly recommend this product if you need a compact way to move large volumes of air! Not to mention this thing is incredibly quiet!

Perfect for laser
Worked great for 80w laser.

Mine is LOUD, unlike the reviews. Maybe I got a fluke?
I've spent months putting together the funds for, researching and buying items to set up a 36"x36"x72" grow tent in the corner of my bedroom to grow my own medicine. I read lots of customer reviews on Amazon, even read in some online groups and forums that this 6" inline fan scored high marks from other users. I have to agree with all but 1 of the praises, that being the noise level. I have 4 fans on my LED light, 2 more 8" independent fans for circulation inside the tent and an 18" oscillating pedistal fan outside of it and this 6" inline fan (connected to insulated duct) is louder than all of them together. The reviews say it's a quiet fan, which leads me to believe that I may have gotten that one bad apple, but I need it to keep down the heat from ruining my plants so I'll endure it for a couple months. I have several other Vivosun products/tools that do not disappoint.Re: Upon contacting the company and working with them on this subject they issued me a full refund and told me to keep the fan. I had continued searching for a solution/quieter fan I found that VivoSun also makes a noise dampener/quietener filter that fits inline along with the fan. Wouldn't you try to sell me that with the issue I'm having instead of, "Here's your money back, don't know what to tell you. Keep the loud fan as our gift."?

Best thing I did was get this
Brilliant fan! Its such a relief to have installed this in my attic for my bathroom. We have a ceiling standard 140mm which was so noisy!!!! It sounded like a aeroplane everytime you turned the light on. Not the case with this little badboy! Comes with a wired plug. I removed this and installed a fused spur fed from the bathroom lights. Best thing I have ever done. No more water condensation all over my walls and ceiling. And bonus is the speed is adjustable, so you can speed down in summer so its even more silent and up again in winter.

Good fan, good value
Haven’t had any issues with fan so far,, been running on timer for 6 months now 12 hr night cycle to keep humidity down in grow tent. Moves tons of air even on low setting. Don’t find it overly noisy except for the air movement ( hopefully expected if you buying an exhaust fan )
