Lorex Technology N4K2-86WD 8 Channel 4K Fusion NVR System with Six 4K (8MP) IP Dome Cameras with Listen-in Audio, 130ft Night Vision, Color Night Vision, 6 Dome

This is a really cool security system on many levels.First, after we had AT&T install 1gb fiber to our house, I decided to replace the existing coax cable with ethernet wiring (CAT7). The Lorex system is a POE system (power over ethernet) so I only needed to run one cable to the cameras...no wiring for electricity. This was a major plus to me.Second, the installation was incredibly easy: bore a 1/2" hole where you want the camera to go, screw in the undermount bracket, mount the camera to the bracket, feeding the dongle cable first, then attach the RJ-45 connectors and you're done.And finally, the cameras work really well. The clarity is excellent, the recording is clear and the interface with my iPhone is simple and straightforward.The only (minor) complaint I have is that the system is shipped with CAT5e cable. This generation of cable was the first that could handle 100mb speeds, but it is really troublesome to install because it is so kinky. I would recommend that you buy flat CAT7 instead, even though 100' of CAT5e is provided with each camera. It's money well spent because CAT7 is a joy to pull vs CAT5e. And by the way, CAT7 is fully compatible with everything downstream, and capable of 1gb speeds...so no need to worry about that.

Installation was simple and easy. Now granted I already had pre-installed wiring, but replacing those with the Cat 5 cables was a bonus. The quality of the cameras is very nice and the app is very good.

Terrible for so many reasons:1. Only able to view cameras on one device (have to log in every time you switch devices), so if you have multiple family members, forget it2. Poor instructions, and english mistakes in the apps and printed materials (no confidence)3. The worst outsourced customer support that ask the same questions over and over. They asked my name three times, where I bought it twice, etc.4. I had a broken part and just gave up trying to get it replaced. They required a photo, then lost the photo, then needed another photo, etc.5. Could never get the notifications to work properly for motion detected when I was outside of my home area6. Horrible app design with menu after menu after menu....Buy something else.

Awesome cameras and nvr. Picture quality is perfect, kit comes with all you need to get set up. Lorex app is good too, no lag at all in video feed… Problem with app is it is not iPad compatible and you cannot have 2 users logged in at once. 5stars. worth the extra $.

I have had many surveillance systems in this price range. And this system is one of the better ones. I don’t care for how it zooms and that I constantly have to log in. That’s why I gave this system 4 stars
