I've used multimeters in the past, but honestly I've never known exactly what I was doing with them. The manual that comes with this Geekify model is very well written, and gives useful examples. (e.g. My flashlight won't power on, or My vehicle's battery keeps dying). The manual shows you exactly what settings to set the device to for various uses (with pictures)!For the project I was most recently working on, I had a chandelier bulb that wasn't working. Unfortunately for me, it wasn't simply the bulb. With the Geekify multimeter, I was able to run the continuity test and determine one of the wires to the socket wasn't working. After removing the socket, I could see that the wire in question had simply come loose from the socket. Once reattaching, I again ran the continuity test and voila! All is good again.I actually spent some time running through a few of the examples provided in the manual to give me an electrical primer. I tested a few batteries, checked some outlets and now feel a little more confident in my next electrical repair adventure.It's also kind of handy using it as a temperature probe. You can check the air temperature, and/or liquid temperatures.All in all, it's a must have tool for any home DIYer.

Meter came with a book explaining how to use the meter. GREAT

First things first - This multimeter is a beast. For the price, I was expecting a device in the handheld size range like my previous "good enough for hobby use around the house" Craftsman multimeter that I've had for nearly 2 decades. The listing doesn't speak towards the scale of this thing, and I think they should lean into the size a little more as the product feels much more substantial than one would expect from the listing alone. That is not a bad thing at all (unless you're in the market for a compact unit, but luckily size wasn't a factor in me choosing this device so it was a nice surprise instead of a negative).The included leads and temperature probe seem well made. The lead's tips are sharp, and the wires are soft and pliable without being flimsy. They feel like they will hold up very well over time and use (I'd say they inspire confidence).The display is VERY easy to read and the backlight is strong without washing anything out. The marketing photos do not capture how great the backlight looks and functions at all and I would suggest that they update the product photos in lighting that better shows off what it is capable of. Seriously, I expected much less quality than I actually received. Do NOT let the photos fool you into thinking the display isn't great.What really seals the deal for me is the included Manual/Handbook. Not only does it clearly explain the different buttons and specifications, but it actually goes into depth on dialing in the proper settings for your intended measurements. The explanations are clear and useful to anyone that isn't a trained electrician. Being a hobbyist and homeowner myself, I very much appreciate the length that Geekify has gone to in order to ensure that their customers get what they need out of the product (and I also expect this helps them dodge many a bad review due to the end user not understanding what they're actually trying to do and setting their testing up incorrectly, resulting in poor results).Bottom line - if you are a homeowner or hobbyist electrician that doesn't need a multiple hundreds of dollar industrial/commercial level multimeter, don't even bother with anything else. I've been using this to troubleshoot and repair video game consoles, guitar electronics, and my HVAC system when the AC unit blew a capacitor and fuse and I'm sold on this thing. If anything should happen to it, I will purchase another to replace it without batting an eye.

I'd been looking for a multimeter to add to my work bench. I am not an expert with these kind of tools and have just been learning as a hobby. When browsing all of the multimeters on Amazon it was a little bit overwhelming because there are so many kinds, so many features... what stood out to me about this one is that it comes with a book that explains how to use it.The multimeter comes in a white box that just says "Geekify Model 1" on top. It's wrapped in clear plastic with the book on top. The book is 87 pages and is written specific to this device. The book has got stuff about how to use it, and how to troubleshoot common problems like checking outlets, etc. The white box that the multimeter comes in is nothing fancy, but contains the multimeter and a carrying case. The case is nothing fancy, and is not large enough to hold the multimeter along with the book.This is a great package for a beginner. I am happy to give it 5 stars for the price. If there were any things that could be improved (which would be at a greater price), perhaps nicer retail packaging (more giftable), a sturdier carrying case, and perhaps enough room in the case for the book. But as it stands, this is a bargain and great for a beginner like me.

I got this meter for the manual. It's actually a pretty good meter with auto-ranging which is helpful. I use a multimeter fairly often because I mess around with computers and batteries. However, I have never really learned how to use one. I have figured out a couple of functions and used those and otherwise have not taken advantage of the potential of a multimeter. This package is great. It clearly explains usage and situations. Together with some Youtube videos I am actually figuring out how to make full use of the meter, and I've been happily surprised to find that this meter offers features that are pretty easy to use.

Been meaning to get one of these for a long time. I don't have a lot of work that uses them but every now and then there is always a task where I wish I had one on hand. This kit is perfect. It has a very informative and well written guide book for new users and so far it has been a pretty nice device. Used it on a Ryobi battery that needed a cell changed. Works great! Highly recommend this kit!

I like this multi-meter less so for the device and more so for the manual it comes with. Its a fine meter, that works well for most things, but where this really shines is the manual it comes with, that walks you through some simple projects so that you actually learn how to use it practically. Great gift for the someone want to learn electronics.
