PERFECT ROD
So, I recently got my hands on a Dobyns Fury Series 7’3” casting rod, heavy fast, and it’s been an absolute beast on the water. This rod is seriously impressive, especially for the price point. First off, the build quality is top-notch. It feels sturdy and well-balanced, with just the right amount of heft for handling big bass. The heavy fast action is perfect for techniques like flipping, pitching, and punching. You get a lot of power for hauling bass out of heavy cover, but it still has enough sensitivity to feel those subtle bites. The length, at 7’3”, gives you great leverage and casting distance. I’ve found it particularly useful for fishing in thick vegetation or around structures where you need to really muscle the fish out. Plus, the handle is comfortable and provides a solid grip, which is crucial during long days on the water. One of the best things about this rod is how versatile it is. It’s designed for heavy-duty applications, but it’s also surprisingly adaptable. I’ve used it for everything from frogging to pitching jigs, and it performs consistently well across different techniques. In short, the Dobyns Fury Series 7’3” casting rod is a fantastic addition to any angler’s arsenal. It combines strength, sensitivity, and versatility, making it a go-to rod for serious bass fishing. If you’re looking for a reliable rod that won’t break the bank, this one’s definitely worth checking out.

Just a great rod...
Great rod! Very light and sensitive. For me, it's a rod that I can tie on a jig or creature bait and go down the shoreline pitching to whatever cover is there. Maybe not a punching rod for really thick, matted vegetation, but it could probably be used for it in a pinch. For me, I think the sweet spot is in that 3/8 to 5/8 range of weights. Highly recommend!

Packaged perfectly, arrived perfectly, somehow cheaper than everywhere else
I was looking for a cheap swimbait rod for my cousin as he's just starting to get in the glide/swimbait game but didn't want to spend 350$ for another Shimano outlier or Leviathan just for him starting out with cheap baits like the Spro Chad Shad, Drt TK/K9, Clutch Eco, etc. and refused to go the cheap cheap route and get him the 7'9 heavy Johnny Morris carbonlite SB rod just because I know how cheap they make those rods for (around 17$) thanks to a friend who works at the warehouse where their imported to.. Was hesitant buying a rod from Amazon for obvious reasons but I was absolutely shocked to see it packaged exactly how rods come from tackle warehouse and hookup tackle. Big rod tube, entire good plastic wrapped and stapled to the outside of the tube so the rod can't roll around inside, and the handle + guides + reel seat all wrapped in bubble wrap/tape.. zero defects on the rod itself, guides and inserts were perfect and straight..not a scratch! HUGE relief! Surprised at how light it feels for a heavier rod and that's thanks to Gary Dobyns always counter balancing his rods ! Only reason I considered this one over a okuma guide select or a champ XP795sb was the price! These fury swimbait rods have always been 159$ MSRP everywhere except during sales. So to snag this at 119.99$ was a steal!

This rod has great action, comfortable to hold
This rod has great action, comfortable to hold, fairly light, and is well-constructed. I bought the FR 705CB specifically for shallow crank-baits to medium diving crank-baits e.g. 4 foot square-bills to 12 foot divers. The action of this rod is the high point in my eyes when retrieving the bait and setting the hook. The rod tip is quite sensitive and you can feel every bump, tick, and wiggle coming back to you through the water. Setting the hook on a crank-bait bite is desirable with this rod, it has plenty of backbone to dig the hooks into the bass's mouth while soft enough tip to allow the crank-bait to not get ripped out or stick to cover or structure you may be pulling the around. A drawback is that the reel seat threads are very short. The screw, if you will, has never backed-off while fishing but it is noticeable how short the reel seat and ultimately threads are on this rod. Lastly, the rod butt is shorter if you prefer longer ones, however, the rod has been balanced well. I think this rod-series is a great recommendation for anyone in the market for technique-specific rod in the $100-$120 range.

One of the best rods at this price point
Small boat fisherman that use to fish KBF tournaments etc. In the past I have fished big boat tournaments with friends and had the luxury of trying some of the higher end Dobyn Champions, Loomis, Powell, and Kistler Rods. I’ve found that the $75-130 is the sweet price point for small boat fishing. These rods offer some of the actions of higher priced rods and if you catch one in a car door it’s easier on the pocket to replace if needed. After fishing many of the brands in this price point (Lews, 6 Sense, Piscifun, KastKing, etc.)I find the Dobyns to be my favorite. I will look to purchase more in my favorite actions. Overview: Purchased the 7ft heavy fast for jig fishing. Rod is well built. The combo foam and cork grips are nice. Rod finish is nice as well. Guides are well placed and good quality. I noticed that Dobyns doesn’t push guides and rod blanks like other brands in this price point. The most sensitive of the rods in this price point that I have tried in this price range. The only con I can see and it doesn’t bother me is that it is heavier than most at this price point.

Great overall rod for dropshot fishing, I caught 2 smallmouth bass weighing 6lbs each on my first outing. The sensitivity and strength of the rod is amazing. This is supposed to be their affordable line as I didn't want to spend $300+ on a great rod instead I spent $150 on a great rod. Can't imagine how much different their higher end line would be. Love my new rod!

This is my 3rd Heavy/Fast Dobyns Fury Rod.I use them for all top water Bass bait presentations and especially froggin.I have two paired with Lews Pro Ti’s and one with a Zillion HD.I use 50Lb Power Pro braid on all three reels. This rod is light, strong and so far durable. The fast tip is great for hook sets and the heavy action has lots of back bone when the rod loads up.The cork grip on the handle is very comfortable in hand. You could pay a lot more for another brand but why bother when the cost benefit equation on a Dobyns Fury rod is so good?..I strongly recommend you keep your equipment in Rod/Reel Gloves to protect during travel.

Decided to pick this up as a replacement for my broken quantum smoke frog rod. I looked through a few forums and consistently saw the Fury being recommended as a good frog rod. paired with a quantum accurist 7.0:1 and 65lb braid. Pulled about 15 fish out of the slop with this rod and I have no complaints. whatsoever.

There is a reason I own multiple dobyns rods. They are great, even the fury line up. For the price, you're getting a solid/sensitive rod. I like the moderate fast action, works great for medium size crankbaits, squarebills, lipless, jerkbaits, even smaller swimbaits with light wire hooks.
