What I like was that this product has been accepted by Veterinary Oral Health Council (VOHC), it is not tested on animals, it uses human grade ingredients, and is easy to use. While you can use a brush, you don't need to, as it (supposedly) works by contact, no brushing required. This is a vegan product, also nice. They state that this product is clinically proven to remove inhibit plaque, tarter and gingivitis. I have only just started to use this toothpaste, so time will tell on my pups how well it works. I am so far happy with this toothpaste. I used them in conjunction with: VIWIK 4Pack Dog Toothbrush Dog Tooth Brushing Kit, Cat Finger Toothbrush for Dogs Small Breed, Medium Large Dogs, Puppy Toothbrush for Dog Teeth Cleaning & Dental Care, Pet Finger Toothbrush Kit and was very pleased with both products and the ease with which I was able to brush my pups teeth for the first time. This will make it nice to brush their teeth on a regular basis.

Great toothpaste!! My chihuahua had plaque deposits on his back teeth and was going to need a dental cleaning even though I was brushing his teeth daily. I did some research and found that Petsmile was highly recommended by Veterinary Oral Health Council (VOHC). I decided to give it a try. Within two weeks, I noticed that the plaque was disappearing. It's been over a year and his teeth look good. The Veterinary Tech told me that his mouth and teeth look great for an 8-year-old. I brush his teeth nightly before bed. This toothpaste is pricey but lasts a long time for us. It's cheaper than having a dental cleaning!! I will continue to buy this product!

I have been using this toothpaste for several years now, and this works best out of all the dog toothpastes we've tried. Whenever we've brushed with other brands, my dog has developed plaque pretty quickly, but this one actually reduces plaque after a week or so of daily use. Other toothpastes do not reduce the plaque well. We brush daily with this, and my dog still does not have teeth problems at 3 years of age. My 16.5-year-old dog also depended on this and had clean, white teeth to her last day.

My dog is a headstrong Jack Russel / Chihuahua. She would have nothing to do with the minty toothpastes but lets me brush her teeth with this. The flavor is the difference.

I have been as guilty as many others over the years with the dogs I have had throughout my life and let their teeth go. I have had to have teeth cleanings done, and broken-off or infected teeth removed. I decided to treat my current pups better and be a more responsible pet owner. I have two dachshund mixes and I brush their teeth with this product every other day. The toothpaste does say that you can just wipe it against their teeth but I prefer to brush their teeth with it. My dogs are fairly used to it by now and will sit still while I do it. They do have a little bit of plaque buildup but at the last vet appointment, I was told their teeth look really good. I expect to have to have a teeth cleaning done eventually but once or twice in their lifetime is well worth it. And their breath isn't disgusting. This stuff works but you have to be diligent about using it.

Brushing with this has turned from endurance to a nightly habit. After resisting brushing with a different toothpaste and then tolerating this one for a while. Our dog now signals when she's ready for this part of her nightly routine. The smell is definitely better than what her breath is often like. And she seems to like the flavor of this toothpaste. At 7 years old I wouldn't expect any cavities and she hasn't had any. So mission accomplished so far. She doesn't seem to have tartar build up as fast as many dogs so this seems to be working.As to usability, its thick enough to stay on the brush for getting back teeth but thin enough that she can lick/chew it out of the bristles pretty easily.

This toothpaste stopped plaque from forming on my dogs’ teeth.

Over the past 2 years my dachshund Lovely developed bleeding, sore gums, brown tartar on her front teeth & bread bad enough to kill a brick. I tried several over the counter water additives, teeth gels and pellets but none of these helped. I read about top rated Petsmile toothpaste online & decided to try it before shelling out nearly $200 to get her teeth cleaned at the dentist. The 2nd day after using it the bleeding totally stopped on her gums. The next day her breath smelled miraculously better. The next week her tartar was lighter in color and did not cover as much of her teeth. I still brush Lovely's teeth daily and no more doggie breath. There is still some tartar present but hopefully it will continue to diminish over time. I still will get her teeth professionally cleaned and will use Petsmile to maintain her fresh breath and to prevent future tartar build up. This product is the only one that has made a difference in my dog's tartar build up, bleeding gums & bad breath. Amazing!
