Great PTZ hardware backed by an actual engineering support team
I run a live 24/7 outdoor stream and weather broadcast at 7,000 feet elevation with lots of harsh weather and wind. I wanted high optical zoom and great image quality in a camera. This camera does not disappoint! Amazing zoom and image quality. Iโm running a SUNBA P636 PTZ camera on my tower, and the video quality and hardware performance in harsh conditions has been outstanding. I have had several compliments on the quality of the video for the stream. For the price of this camera, I got an amazing value for the money and doubt cameras at 3x the price could be better quality. This camera has been abused in my application on a tower in high winds, rain, snow, hail and the durability of this camera has been stellar. This night vision is very good as well. It has built in "night vision" spot light that will illuminate the dark for a longer distance than I need. Too bad I'm limited to just one video. Here's some screenshots from the camera. The high zoom image is a visitor center 26 miles away. I can not say how happy I am with this camera. I haven't had a hard time navigating the software/app as it's mostly straightforward. There is always something to dislike, but so far I haven't had any problems using the software or the mobile app. The manual that comes with the camera is very detailed. Working with Robin in customer support was a fantastic experience. Robin provided detailed engineering support and left me with the feeling that customer support and happy customers were important to him and the company. If you need reliable PTZ hardware for live outdoor streaming, sky/weather/bird/critter watching, or site observation backed by top-notch technical support, SUNBA is a great choice!

What's not to like?
I have sent a review 2 other times but Amazon said I violated their policies somehow. So I'm hoping this one makes it in. I purchased the P636 V2 and tried it out inside my home for a month or so to be sure everything worked okay and then packed it away for about a year waiting for an opportunity to install it in its intended location. That came in October. About a week after installation I lost the IR light and the PT of PTZ. I looked at the warranty period which to my surprise was two years. I wrote Sunba and explained my issues and from that Robin P. determined that it was a failed motherboard. He said I could send it to them for repair or he could send me a new motherboard which I could install with the help of a video he would send me. I chose the latter and had no issues at all replacing the motherboard which fixed the problems. First, let me say that over the years I have used PTZ cameras from many manufacturers, from the least expensive to one of the most expensive zooms and many in between. No camera has given me anyway near the quality of stream that this camera produces, and the zoom ability is simply amazing. Adding digital zoom on top of the 36x optical zoom results in image magnification that everyone wants but few are willing to pay for. The tracking feature of this camera is not of interest to me so I havenโt tried it, but everything else works extremely well. The IR lights are powerful and more than adequate, the PTZ aspects are very smooth and always return to exact positioning, and the FTP works well. Instead of using a micro SD card I chose to have the videos and snaps sent to my NAS. The vids are ts files which I am able to play and the snaps are in jpg format. From my perspective this camera is very impressive and I will certainly consider Sunba products for future camera needs. And you canโt go wrong with their customer service. I had several back and forths with Robin and the responses were always the next day (in China) and very helpful. While customer service isnโt usually a deciding factor when choosing a technology product, maybe it should be.

Roasted itself and died. Can't select any options to get ahold of anyone. Money down the toliet
[Update] It died. Hey I'll just try and get ahold of them, I think it's just the PoE port, power port works but I can't run power all the way to where it is. Oh well it's Amazon so go through this MAZE and at the end.. talk to AI that "can't help you with that" I bought three different cameras and had issues with one other one. I'd recommend the one that works! I'd love to talk to the manufacturer and get the damned wiring loom, but I can't talk to anyone because Amazon. [Old review] [Title] For the price it's the best. Maybe even for any price Zoom is absolutely incredible on this monster. The picture of an eye was my German Shepard all the way across a 2,000 sqft room. He doesn't move much so a capture was highly detailed for him. The camera is BIG. Like bigly big. Don't expect to be able to hide it. That said it's made from Tonka tough steel and if placed right won't be easy to remove without being noticed, if that's your situation. The ultimate goal for my installation is to be out of reach and to use the amazing range of the telescopic lens to keep an eye on my front 5 acres. Night vision is probably fantastic, I'm still testing mine inside my basement, and attempting to use it for nights backfires because of the IR flashlight effect on the windows. If you're wanting to use it indoors to watch outdoors for any reason the IR is going to make that difficult for the same reason pointing a flashlight out a window at night is dumb unless you're right up on it. Won't be an issue if you use it as intended. Image quality is amazing. 5MP doesn't seem all that impressive, but it's pretty damn amazing when you combine the zoom. I was absolutely sure I wanted 4k but it's just not going to matter. Yeah I said it. You're getting intricate detail from the lens so don't worry about it. Complaints: Well we knew this was coming. The brains of this thing are kind of wonky. If you let it follow motion it likes to point in weird directions once it's done. Sometimes it goes back to where it was pointing, sometimes it goes to a predetermined point that I'm not sure if I can set. If I figure that out, then great. If not? Well I'll probably have to turn off an integral feature I actively bought this for. It's not inconspicuous. At all. As you can see from the pictures it's large human head width and taller. It also costs half a grand and is seured with an Allen wrench that you already own 8 of probably. You're gonna want to put it out of reach. But a weak "con" since to get the most ground coverage you'll be wanting it high anyways. And finally the real con: software. I finally got it loaded up in the VMS they have, took a while because VMS thought it was a switch. Odd. I also bought Sunba's 405 ECO (it's a smaller and paired down version, basically) they use different apps! Damnit! So I bought two cameras off one business and still need two phone apps to watch them. Well that sucks. Additionally as with all ONVIF cameras, if you want to actually use them you gotta load them into an old IE browser and deal with your computer freaking out over that. This one allows you to use Chrome, but similar problems arise. It's ONVIF though so grab blue iris or if you're one of the cool kids like me get ZoneAlarm setup. Just don't expect it to run 18 cameras on the 2014 server with only 40 threads and 128 gigs of ram like I did. Oops.

Good camera. Setup is challenging. Here are the caveats.
This is a good camera that lives up to its billing. We got clear and crisp video from a large building 400' away. But beware the following: First, for newbies like myself, keep in mind that the 36X OPTICAL zoom only matters when LIVE viewing. When you review the footage you will only be seeing the the view of whatever the zoom was set to. If you want to zoom in on the recorded footage you are relegated to DIGITAL zoom, which is not as a high a quality. We found that optical zoom worked great. I was able to zoom in on a building 425' feet away and view a lateral area of 200' with optical zoom set at only 4.5. By zooming in further I could easily read license plates off parked cars. But again, since I was recording video at that 4.5 optical zoom there was no way to later zoom in close on a license plate with digital zoom. Too much pixilation. Unreadable. Regarding ease of set up and documentation. On the plus side there is a PDF guide for the camera itself, and a PDF guide for the free software (GuardStation) used to view and record videos. There are also a number of Youtube videos on how to operate the camera and the software. Even so, I found setup to be challenging. There is no A-Z guide to get the camera operational. Nor is there such a guide for playback of videos or remote access to the live view from a smart phone (all features the camera provides), so you have to sort of stumble around a very non-intuitive user interface to configure things. I had to call on my IT expertise at least once to move ahead. Having said that, I found support to be a step above the typical non-support support offered by most tech companies. So while you may encounter some frustration, the camera seems worth the trouble, as long as you keep above caveats (at least the ones I discovered) in mind. Cheers!

Great quality images
Great camera and easy to set up. The delivery time was fast and this was a good value for my summer house as a guarding becon.

Great picture, but unstable!
The picture is clear, especially in black and white mode at night. I've honestly never had a camera so clear. However, there are a few things you should be aware of... First of all the camera will periodically lock-up and what I mean is it will respond to Zoom but not Pan/Tilt or IR commands. Therefore night will come and it wont switch on the IR. The fix? You have to power-cycle the camera by unplugging the cable or using the management commands on your switch (if you have this) Sunba's response was that I didn't have enough power. I was running it on a Cisco 740W POE switch with 30 watts per port, the management interface confirmed that with IR on at night the camera was pulling ~24 watts, just a watt shy of what they say is required at 25. The budget assigned on the port was 30. any less than that will cause the camera to enter a reboot loop when IR attempts to turn on. The camera also claims to be starlight... don't believe it!! if Wyze can put a true starlight sensor in their $25 camera and provide color night vision for stationary use with almost no ambient light, then $400 for a PTZ that *claims* to be starlight, should be starlight, this camera is just awful in low light with a ton of noise in the picture and you must have IR or other very bright light present to get a clear picture. The stability was the most important part for me, so the camera went back!

Surprisingly great quality and easy set-up
I didn't know what to expect. The description looked too good to be true, but I just hooked this up today (12/27/24) and it was a fairly easy project. It's been streaming for several hours on YouTube Live without any issues. So easy to use and the visual quality is better than I expected. We are using it to live stream a residential lake so part-time residents can see the lake and its condition live. Shopped cameras 10x as expensive and I don't believe the extra money spent would have returned anything close to twice as good.
