VersaChalk A-Frame Sidewalk Chalkboard - 42"x24"

Awesome chalkboard! You get what you pay for here and it's well worth the price. The frame is heavy duty and made of solid wood. It must weigh 20 pounds or so. This is NOT the cheap junk that is so easy to find these days. The actual chalkboard is blemish free and easily takes the chalk, unlike some chalkboards you have to struggle with. It's sturdy and has a chain underneath to help it hold its position. I'm planning on taking this to the farmer's market this summer; meanwhile, my 4 year old is having a great time drawing on each side. In fact, it's ideally suited to him as it's just the right height and stays put. We have used both chalk markers and regular chalk on it already and erased over and over and the surface remains clean and clear. Definitely happy to have this. On top of its functionality -- it looks great. It's in the living room and actually adds to our farmhouse themed décor.

**Updated review** I left a 3 star review a few days ago, because I had some issue getting some of the writing and drawing off the board. I received a package in the mail yesterday from the owner of the company, with a hand written card, a complete cleaning kit for my board and a brand new set of high quality liquid chalk pens. The cleaning kit (from VersaChalk) successfully removed all the marks that were left on my board, and the Versachalk pens work WAY better than the other, cheaper pens I had bought. This is definitely one of the best customer service experiences I've had in a long time, and they made a customer for life. **Original review** The board looks great and the quality of the frame is good. My only complaint (and it's kind of a big deal) is that if you leave the same thing written on the board for more than a few days, it doesn't come off 100%. My board is full of letters and drawings that are not coming off and you can clearly see it at the right angle. (**Again, their cleaning kit was successful at remove those marks that were left on my board**)

I have used outside chalkboarda at restaurants for over 10 years in New York City. All year long, in all weather. This one sold me on it's magnetic board, hoping it would have more durability than cheaper ones that suffer in the rain. The board is great but the frame is made out of the dryest softest wood possible. The hardware is junk. The top hinges are 3 inches wide and sunk with tiny little screws. You can see where this is going. One gust of wind and it knocked over and ripped out a hinge. I'm a resourceful guy, so I bought a 24" piano hinge like it should have had the whole time. Put some proper hardware in it and we'll see.

I am reviewing years after purchasing and my product is still going strong. It is beautiful to look at and it sure has presence. I call it elegant. It is very sturdy and remains in great condition as well. A little bit of shadowing in one area but I believe it was from keeping the writings on the board for extended periods of time in a few instances. Nothing to affect the overall functioning of the board though. Ah Love It! Oh, I use the board for kids fun event and transport it from place to place.

It’s sturdy and well constructed. Only problem I had was... it came with a few small scratches in one of the sides that must have happened during transporting. The box was pretty beat up. I didn’t returned cause I had no time to do it.

I’ve bought at least a dozen of these a-frame signs for our campus. I’ve used paint pens to directly chalk the board, and they turn out beautifully (Coffee photo). Just be sure to chalk the entire surface using plain white chalk (and wipe down) before using chalk markers for the first time - otherwise your design might become permanent. When I don’t have 4-5 hours to chalk them, I design artwork (Illustrator or Canva) on a chalkboard texture and have them printed on adhesive paper at Staples (Wed Meal photo). They are great for directional signs, announcements, etc.

The chalkboard surface is perfect! It can easily be "seasoned" (small dusting of chalk for a vintage look) and it also easily wipes away clean to hide any imperfections. The size of the board is great and the wood frame is beautiful. It's a quality product so it's a bit heavy, but that makes it perfect for sitting outside on a windy day.

First, let me say that the sandwich board looks fantastic and the size of the board is larger than others. That is is the good; a solid product. The wood seems to be pine, the hinges and leg locking hardware are suitable. not heavy duty but more than enough for everyday use. I would not put this sign in the rain. The down side was, it came late. I know, two days late, no big deal, but delivery dates are planning data and my plan was thrown off. secondly, the packaging was just bad and the sign came to me broken. Not totally broken, but smashed and broken and i must repair. and since it arrived late, i wont be sending back, ill be living with the repaired sandwich board. So, great product, terrible delivery.

I wanted high quality and budget friendly and this truly is. I got the board, pens and erasing kit. Very worth it. It is sturdy, easy to erase and it seems like its going to last me years to come. Very happy.
