Perfect for Second Grade!
This was a suggested reading to align with Unit 1 of our Bridges curriculum for Second Grade. We have been learning about odd/even numbers for over 4 weeks, so my students had a solid understanding of odd/even numbers before we read this story. It’s a very engaging story with lots of opportunities to stop and talk about the story throughout. There are thought provoking questions at the end of the story that relate back to math concepts and story comprehension elements. Highly recommend!

Great practices for learning odd/even numbers
Even Steven only likes even numbered things and Odd Todd, odd things. Plenty of opportunity for children to spot odd/ even number of objects in the pictures, although those stay less than 12. We related the number of objects it to huge numbers and determined if they are odd/even too thus demonstrating the use of the ones digit. Children then made their own numbers for us to determine odd or even. This book is a great stimulus for mathematical discussion. My 6 year olds loved it, commenting and discussing Even Stevens rages and changes in demeanour over the course of the story. Hits PSHME/English too.

Grade 2 resource
I enjoyed this book and my more importantly my students enjoyed it as well. The story was believable and funny and I'm sure it was helpful for some of my students with respect to the idea of even and odd. Good price.
