The Psychiatric Interview

Book is small/pocket size and not too thick. He writes like he is having a casual conversation with you, and that is helpful. The chapters are brief. This is like a quick-reference/overview type of material. More helpful than some of the bigger textbooks in my opinion.

If you're worried about starting on your own, read this book and follow it. It will help you immensely.

Very useful book on the psychiatric interview, small enough to be portable, but also in-depth.

The author wrote book in everyday language which makes it easy to follow. I’ve been using tips from the book when I do admission assessments and it has improved my information gathering. Sometimes I get more information out of patients than designated forensic psychologists. There’s so much to love about this book. Great for students and practitioners alike
