Excellent book, very informative
Exceptionally well presented book with details about just about every flower anyone could ever think of.Covering folklore and symbolic meanings, and potential powers, including details of spiritual powers.I really can't recommend this book enough to anyone who is interested in the more spiritual aspect of flowers - apart from the Latin names for the flowers, the other names that they are known by are included as well as pictures plus a description.Very very informative. For the amount of information and research that has gone into it, I am surprised that it isn't twice the price. Buy it, you won't be disappointed.

Very useful research book
This is a lovely book for researching the history of flowering plants. It's also very cleanly laid out and an interesting read to just flip through. The illustrations are useful and nicely done. All in all, a very pretty book to add to your collection.

Very small font size
This is a beautiful book but it is let down by the tiny font size. It is almost impossible to read. This is the hardback version and is described as a Pocket Edition. The dimensions of the paperback as advertised are larger, but is the font just as tiny?

Fun present for a beloved or a gardener but floral messages are not always clear!
I bought this after touring Hughenden House (NT) . Queen Victoria used to send Disraeli primroses as supposedly these were "his favourite flowers". As floral messages were common in Victorian days I wanted to know what they meant. This book might give you an answer if you get interesting flower gifts. BUT it turns out that there may well be multiple meanings for a particular flower (like "peace" or "I will always love you" ) so be cautious! It also turns out that where a female recipient wears the flowers is a crucial part of the reply so this is a treacherous message form. Enjoy!

Beautiful and informative - the best choice
I have been looking for a Language of Flowers book for ages. I bought this as a gift and it was so great I kept it! I did buy some alternatives which are nowhere near as easy to read as this is.
