These ARE the drones you have been looking for...
From box to flight in minutes. Instructions so easy a kid can do it. A few helpful hints to make your "nano" drone experience better:1. To use all the features of this drone, you must download and install the APP on your phone (I suggest doing that before you begin using the drone). Go into your Wi-Fi settings and "pair" the APP with your phone (just like you would "pair" a new Wi-Fi connection to your phone). If you don't plan on using the drones camera while connected to a "smartphone", get the $40 JetJat Drone without a camera. In fact, get two!2. You need to supply two AAA batteries for the included transmitter/controller, batteries are not included, you can then use the APP and "video drone with your phone".3. The drone plugs into a USB port to recharge, not wall sockets. Keep that in mind when you go to a park or somewhere away from home (bring your laptop or other device with USB plug).4. The propellers spin at superman fast RPM's. They are not indestructible but fairly sturdy. You will crash the drone. The blades will get beat up when you crash, even with the blade guard on. Remember, you will crash it a lot. You might want to fly it over a soft surface like grass till you become proficient at flying it. If your drone starts to wobble, drift or is not very responsive check the propellers first. It comes with 4 extra blades. You will probably want to order more. If the drone does not hover well, the flight controls can be calibrated and "tuned" up in the APP.5. Read the instructions prior to using your drone. Download, install and become familiar with the APP prior to using your drone (don't forget to "pair" the drone to your phone in Wi-Fi settings). Some of these bad reviews seem like user error induced frustration. This is one of the easiest "entry level" drones in the world to fly; very forgiving, very fun and well engineered... but not indestructible... 5 out of 5 stars- and not because its the cheapest, fastest, sturdiest, best drone on the market for $100. It is none of those... 5 stars because the $100 bucks was worth watching the video as my kid chased the dog around the house with a nano drone.UPDATE... The Dog killed the drone... New Rule... No more chasing the dog with a drone...

Cool idea, and the thought was in the right ...
Cool idea, and the thought was in the right place, but very difficult to fly. The drone wants to drift to the the right. Even after using the trim adjustment, very hard to keep it from drifting right into a wall.

Best 2" Quad available, but that's not saying a lot.
This is a fun little drone, I bought this because I'm looking for something that I can fly indoors for the winter. I also have an HVR quad that is very similar. This drone tries to duplicate the features of larger drones with auto take off, landing and hover, it's semi-successful in that regard. To start your flight you must auto takeoff, every time I do this the drone flies up and hits the ceiling of whatever room I'm in. You cannot hold control input to stop this, eventually I learned you can prevent the impact by quickly applying down stick after it takes off. Auto hover is a bit of a stretch, the Ultra is much, much more stable than the HVR and you can get it to hover with minimal control input, that said you can't just take your hands off the stick and expect it to stay put. Auto landing is a bit rough, sometimes the drone comes down hard and bounces on impact. The Ultra has an app, unlike the HVR and you'll need that to use any of the advanced features like the auto flip and using the camera. I've had really mixed results with the app. Using an iPod, the iOS version locks you out from using the supplied controller forcing you to use the onscreen sticks which are a lot harder to control. Using the Android app on an LG G5 is the opposite, nothing works at all there except for the camera controls. Everything the drone shoots is pushed to the device you're using, no way to not use an smart device and get pics or footage. They were kind of hard to find, didn't show up in camera roll, but under a folder called UFO.I think this drone has some kind of sensor in the belly. It seems to react to things underneath it, gaining a little altitude when a coworker put his hand closely underneath it while hovering. One final note, fly this in a carpeted room, if you make a hard landing or hit something and it auto-shuts off, the fall will damage the props. I've already broken one flying at work and Mota wants $5 for a replacement set of four.I don't plan on returning my Ultra, but I'm not sure you should spend $100 one either.Happy flying!

Decent Copter, app does not work.
This drone is very cool. Somehow very durable. It's nice that is comes with extra props, because although they don't really break, they get bent and nicked and will affect flight. Easy to control with the iPhone, but my controller does not work. Also, the camera does not work. I think this is an app problem, but still, without a functional camera this drone is the same as their camera-less one in the 40 dollar range. Reached out to Mota over a week ago now and they still have not replied, despite saying on their website that it would be within one business day. Will return if no reply is made quickly.
