Isolator Isolation Feet - Model 4 - Set of Four

One of the best things you can do to get better sound from your audio equipment is to eliminate as much vibration as possible. Vibrapods have long been an audiophile's tweak help achieve this. They've been reviewed many times by different publications/forums/users and their benefits have proven to be measurable and concrete. Vibrapods aren't made of rubber, but a rather a special composition of vinyl materials that absorb and deaden vibrations much more effectively. However, because they aren't rubber, they will leave some marks on some surfaces over time. Vibrapod has some recommendations on their website on how to avoid this. I'm using black felt as a "backing" material. I recently bought a Denon's brand new (and excellent!) VL12 Prime direct-drive turntable. Because my equipment rack isn't as isolated from the floor as I'd like, I decided to isolate the turntable from the rack itself, suspending it on its own separate platform. I put 4 rubber & cork pad isolators under a Top Chop 1" maple butcher block board, which would help isolate the platform from my rack's surface. To further isolate the turntable, I then sat it on top of the Vibrapods. This has resulted in not only a rock-solid, ultra-damped foundation for my turntable, but allows it to perform with better. The noise levels are markedly lower, tracking more precise and the sound is fuller with more extension. It's no secret that vibration can ruin sound, especially in something as "touchy" as a turntable. Vibrapods are a cheap way of really improving the sound of your set-up without spending money on new gear or modifications. Isolating your turntable from your rack is a simple, easy way to better sound...and more enjoyment!

They helped some with vibration but need the rubber

Last year, I purchased a Drobo FS to use for network storage, and I placed it on a shelf in a closet upstairs. When I finally added the final couple of drives so that it was fully loaded, the vibration from it was so loud that it could be heard all over the house. Not super loud, mind you, but in a quiet bedroom, you could hear a low, steady hum. Enter the Vibrapods. I purchased a set of 4 of these and placed them under the feet of the Drobo. The result? Blissful silence. If you put your hand on it, you can tell it's vibrating just as much as it was before, but these little feet keep those vibrations from being transferred to the shelf (and thus to the rest of the house). Definitely going to be putting a few more of these in place.

I made a pair of stands for my JBL L112s using MDF for the bases and tops, bamboo for the posts, felt feet at the bases and these for the speakers to sit on the tops. The combination worked out really well. They look good (I painted the MDF with DuraTex and stained the bamboo) and don't flex, vibrate or transmit any vibration to the wood floor. I credit a lot of how well the stands perform to having Vibrapods between them and the speakers cabinets. I have no regrets regarding the purchase of my Vibrapods.

It's important to pick the right density of these isolation pucks and match them to the weight of the object you are trying to isolate. Too soft and they will squish down and be less useful. Too hard and the outcome will be too rigid. The hold in the centre of the puck is there to allow the puck to be attached to the same bolt used for holding the feet of a stereo component to the underside of the device. It's worth insuring that the bolt does not protrude under compression and contact the supporting surface. Do not expect to put an isolator spike through the centre of the puck - the hole goes straight through. the profile on these isolator pucks is relatively short which is fine. I wanted to use these to reduce resonances in the interface between my stereo equipment and the supporting shelves. These do a fine job of reducing vibration coming from my equipment and getting magnified in the shelves. the goal of eliminating transformer hum has been achieved and that means that my equipment is well isolated and room noise is minimised. While having a low noise floor definitely helps my sonic experience, and indicates that room vibration is less likely to affect my equipment, there is no noticeable effect on the sound of my amp, the speakers, or anything else. It's good peace of mind and I think my amp tubes are generally happier and healthier because of reduced vibration. Don't expect any grand changes in the performance of your stereo.

I was having what I believed at the time to be a failing vintage receiver. When I increased the load on my receiver I would get what sounded like clipping through my speakers. Since my speakers are rated well above where the "clipping" occurred research pointed to a receiver in need of servicing. Then I came across a forum discussing resonance affecting turntables. I had just made a major turntable upgrade and it made sense resonance would be an even bigger issue with a more sensitive table. I bought these and feet and the issue was reduced dramatically. I was able to turn my volume up considerably more before the issue reappeared. So now I am going to order more to try and isolate my speakers and allow for even more volume. I highly recommend!!!

The item (Vibrapod - Isolator Feet - Model 4) used under the feet of a turntable whose total weight is 9 kg (~ 20 pounds) shows that the Vibropad is strong enough to stand such a weight. Used over anti-vibration pads, it apparently serves its purpose; but it is difficult to judge how effective it is against external vibration, especially since the floor of my room is too steady and my turntable (Denon DP-51F) has not a light plinth , so it does not easily resonates with slight vibrations. Perhaps the only obvious negative spec is its oily odor would is not pleasant if too close or if you have too sensitive nose.

Placed these under a Technics 1200 turntable, and also under the table feet supporting it, and eliminated 90+% of the horrible turntable howling when you turn up the volume...Really reduces the vibration common with most turntables -HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
