The ut would not seat on bolt. Very stiff movement. Would not seat after several attempts. Finally got stuck and would not back off - could not remove - runined $300 section of railing. I also purchase the jig set - that is of no value It does not seat accurately on the end of railing. It does not support the needed drill sizes to for this product. It is critical to align the bore holes and to keep them true, which is very difficult without a jig - and the jig tool that jip bolt sells, again, does not support the bit size needed for this product.

Fastener is strong, easy to install and remove if necessary. Better than the old way of using a wrench in such an awkward position.

These low profile bolts are not in the same league as the full sized ones. I had a few of these strip out on me and it was a major pain to take it apart. They are much easier to install than a traditional rail bolt but be very cautious when tightening so that it doesn't strip out

Definitely does the job connecting stair rails.

The instructions recommend a dry fit, and my take on it was to snug the fastener, back out, apply glue, and final tighten. As mentioned in the other reviews, the material used doesn't lend itself to that kind of procedure. It stripped when I tried to loosen it to apply glue.I had to drill out the fastener and use the other that came in the pack. Because I'm up on a deadline, the other handrail with have to use a standard threaded stud.It's a good concept and design, but falls short because of the materials used.
