best thermal printer in this price range, hands down
i bought this printer to complement my diy pos system. the other items include a dell computer and monitor, and this cash drawer, all for under $700. the printer included the epson opos drivers, which allowed me to install the printer to the computer very easily. this printer also communicates with the cash drawer perfectly, and allowed me to add a custom image to the top of the receipt with very little effort.i picked up some ncr receipt paper also, which works great in the printer. print quality is excellent, and the speed is plenty fast. the cutter also works very well. the footprint is small enough that the printer fits neatly behind the monitor, on top of the cash drawer. servicing the printer is also very easy, as all you need to do is open the top, toss in a new roll of paper, and make sure some extra paper is sticking out the top when you close it; no feeding paper through rollers or any of that headache. it does all the work for you.i can't believe this printer costs ~$150! i would expect something that works this well to cost at least twice as much (as many other options do). i can't recommend this thermal printer highly enough!

False Compatibility Advertised
I purchase this printer a few months ago for my new business and just got around to hooking it up this week. I am using the toast pos system and this printer is supposed to be compatible with it. It is not. I tried for several hours trying to get it to connect and I called my internet provider because the printer wasn’t being found anywhere. I finally broke down and called toast who made me share my screen and got me on a video call only to point out to me that this printer has something written on the compatibility sticker that says T20iii next to the Epson name but it has a completely different model number. Therefore it is not compatible. The ports are different than the ones on the real model and this one does not have what it needs to work over WiFi which I read that it was WiFi compatible.I tried to reach out to the Amazon vender but the bot isn’t allowing me to. I would like a full refund even though my return period has ended because of the deception involved in this false advertised description.

Umm ... It's an Epson Printer what more review do I need to say?
Seriously guys, this is a very very great product. THe Epson TM T20 is supposed to be the "lower level" product of the TM80 but honestly, the thing works EXACTLY like the tm80 and cost 200 bucks cheaper lol.Thermal Printing and comes with all hardware including the test roll of Thermal PaperSpits out the receipt FAST!!!! not of that POS58 slow 20 printing like those cheaposI still for the life of me have issues using the ESC/POS command for USB and Epson is to selfish to release the USB KICK DRAWER code, they only get you the rs232. Otherwise, the hardware is awesome, if you are running a business, get the right equipment the first time... Snag on of these babies and save money in the process in the short run and long run.

Great little printer
I have to admit that the driver install for this printer kind of threw me for a loop. It can be installed using either POS (Point of Sale) or standard drivers - and I got hung up trying to get the POS drivers installed and configured. After blowing a few hours on that, I found the standard drivers - and then everything worked perfectly.Anyway, for us the standard drivers are the right choice - but there are some systems that require the POS drivers.Once everything is installed, the performance is impressive. This printer is also very easy to load and use!I love that we can print PDF417 barcodes on our receipts using simple font substitution. If you have any control over your printing software, I would highly recommend looking into that function of the printer driver. (Although we use PDF417, the printer can also generate many other 1D and 2D barcode types.)Overall, I would definitely recommend giving this printer a shot. We're using a couple of them in the front of our store without any issues at all.

This Model IS compatible with Square Stand now.
Good Low cost printer, we have two of these in our restaurant connected to via USB to our Square Stands, this model is plug and play compatible with Square Stand via USB now that Square has updated their software. The only potential negative is that this model like most EPSON POS printers uses a large power adapter with a proprietary epson connector at one end, a large brick then a standard ac plug at the other end, this just means that wiring will be a little messier unless you can route all that under your counter like we did.

Works like a charm but a little too loud printing.
The media could not be loaded. You get what you pay for. definitely not the quietest printer! It sounds like that old dial modem trying to connect to internet while it is printing. But it is reliable, and prints a good quality receipts, i have 7 of them at my stores and they work perfectly with square stand pos and the square register.
