Display gone. It is not waterproof. Wrote a complaint but they did not get back.

This endoscope works ok. I needed something to inspect a 4" PVC sewer/drain line. First, the cable is not stiff enough to move through the pipe more than about 10 feet before it no longer wants to move and just bunches up. I had to tape it to a fish tape to get it any further into the pipe. Second, the lens got debris on it, and the picture became blurry. The pipe I was inspecting had not been used in days, so most all the debris had been cleared. There was a small amount of slime at the bottom of the pipe, and the lens got slime on it quickly, resulting in a cloudy picture. I think this endoscope may work just fine for other applications, but for inspecting a sewer/drain line for more than 5-10 feet or so, it is not up to the task. Without debris, the image is very good, so I gave it 3 stars.

Problem: Can't find the home's 1-1/2"id condensation drain pipe laid under the basement concrete floor and ends out back, but where? It's outlet is totally clogged and won't clear. I chose the Oiiwak because it had the highest waterproof rating. This 50' camera snake is not meant for long horizontal pipes. So, i attached 2 hard plastic balls (1", 1-1/4") to the camera, and a 25' sewer snake to the cable, all secured with waterproof tape (see photo of tools and materials used). I slid the apparatus down a vertical 17" pipe to a 90-degree elbow, which it slid through like grease, and zipped through the water-filled pipe to the next bend (135-degree). I could twist the camera, via the sewer snake, to view (clear water) the entire join*, and then continued the trip until the sewer snake ended. There was sludge, so i knew i was close to the pipe's outlet. I used the tools and materials in the second photo to calculate where the outlet was, and i was precisely right. Had to guess the depth it was buried. The end was under a shed wouldn't you know! Cut a 2'x5' hole in the floor and joined an extension so the outlet is where anyone can now find it. Hooray! Try this at your own risk, and there are risks! *Wish the camera had a square, or better yet, round view, instead of rectangular. That's why 4 stars. If this page allows it, i will shoot and attach a video of the camera's lightning trip through the water in the pipe. The only cost was the Oiiwak. Everything else was from my workshop. The balls stopped the camera from snagging on the elbows, kept the camera out of the slime, and improved the view and lighting.

I purchase this product to look down into the floor vents in the lower level of Our house. The vents in this level are encased in concrete and inaccessible to observe and evaluate in any other manor. Plus sides, the light brightness adjustment was as described and very helpful in the conditions within which I was working. The controls were straightforward and very easy to use right out of the box. The recording function was more than adequate for my needs and for that of most users in my opinion. Did not try it in wet conditions. Cons, the wire is not rigid enough to push further than a few feet as even when strait it tends to curl up on itself when pressure is applied. This rendering it useless for long runs. (Work around used for this below). Battery life appeared short. As I fully charges the unit out of the box. Used it for about 30 minutes and was called away for several hours. Before leaving I turned the unit off and returned to a dead unit. Opinion, for the dollars this is a good unit for 25 feet or less. When used on straight runs. I found using an electrical fish tape attached to the wire allowed me to extend the distance of usability considerably. There will be some issues with orientation when using, however with use they are manageable. For the dollars, this is a good unit when used within the parameters indicated previously. Unfortunately, I will need to upgrade to something just a little more stable for future uses. Good luck.

I got this camera to inspect a drain pipe in my house. The camera wire has a rigid bit inside the wire but its only slightly more rigid than a twist tie thing for your bread. At about 10feet the wire is no longer able to push itself forward. I attached is it a metal pipe snake and got it in there about 25ft and was able to remedy my drain issue. The real bummer on this thing though is the plastic screen. I rolled up the pipe snake and camera to set them aside and finish cleaning up. I came back and I had cracked the screen just by setting everything in a pile. This makes it now unusable. Considering this is designed for inspections or use in the WORKPLACE more than sitting around in a clean safe environment I would expect the screen to be more durable. Luckily I finished my work before the camera was ruined but super disappointed to only get one use out of a $100 item. If the screen is intentionally this fragile I would suggest they could include a cloth bag or something to store it in when not in use.
