Original Pleated Light Filtering Shades

Applied it 6-7 months ago, while I wait for renovations to be done. I still have it up, easy to use, its paper so rips easily, but good for temporary use.

Inexpensive good looking window shades. I didn't realize they did not ship with clips but binder clips work just fine.

These work reasonably well, but the adhesive tended to turn loose and allow them to fall after a few weeks even though I was using them in a brand new house and had cleaned the smooth painted wood surface with alcohol before attaching them. I ended up putting them back up with double sided tape and putting thumb tacks at each end to hold them until I got my permanent blinds ordered and installed.

I have several windows of varying width that face south, so was looking for an affordable option. This seemed perfect as I could cut them down to fit each window. They don't look amazing, but I wasn't looking for amazing - just something to block the southern sun. Installation: 5/5. These were very easy to install. I thoroughly cleaned and dried the windows frames prior to installing to ensure maximum adhesion. After measuring, I easily cut each shade to size with a sharp kitchen knife and stuck them up on the window frame. I then took a rubber roller and firmly rolled it across to make sure it was fully adhered. Stretch: 3/5. Fresh out of the box and hung, they naturally hang about halfway down my window. By the next morning they had drooped down to about 2/3 of the way down the window. It seems gravity takes effect and pulls the creases/springyness out of the shades over time. Not really a huge deal, but if you want to keep them open to a specific level, you may need to adjust regularly by clipping additional folds in. Adhesion: 1/5. As many have warned in the comments, they just don't stick. I haven't even had these a full 24hrs and I'm already encountering issues. As stated previously, I prepped the areas these were to be hung by making sure the surfaces were thoroughly cleaned and dried and even used a rubber roller to firmly press them to the surface. I hung up 5 out of 6 that came in the pack. The next morning two had fallen completely and, halfway through the day, I noticed two more were starting to peel off. I've stuck them all back up and am hoping they stay this time, but I don't have too much faith. I would say you get what you pay for, but for $30 I'd at least expect them to stay put. I would give this an overall rating of 1/5 stars simply because, 24hrs in, they already aren't sticking and if they don't stick, it doesn't matter what they look like or how easy to install them they are. Simply put, they aren't doing their job laying on my dining room floor.

Thought I had a picture. But no matter they are a very quick, affordable and pretty aesthetic way to filter like, helps with blackout and UV and temperature cooling. I started using paper shades years ago there's no damage to the walls or the trim. And as long as you don't have kids running around tugging on them or crinkling them they last for a long time and look nice. And I bought six packs and 12 packs and you can't be the cost to quantity ratio. I've turned on some friends to these and bought some for my friends and they're so easy to install. Like it's a game changer. I do recommend 100% follow the instructions. They're easy to cut. They're a thick enough paper that it makes them good. The only problem I've ever had is after a while gravitational pull will make some of the corners of the adhesive start to come up so I absolutely recommend adding a little extra tape to keep them secure. A very cost effective way to cover your windows

The cost is very affordable for covering six windows. The shades are effective in keeping the sun from heating up our sun room. The look is nice and clean. I easily cut these down to a 30” width by folding them flat to fit on a paper cutter, which gave a professional, clean cut. My disappointment was that the adhesive did not keep the shades in place, they started falling off within a couple of hours. I used little pieces of white duck tape on the ends to keep the shades from falling off…time will tell if it does the job.

Get nothing for writing this. I bought these for our new house and we used them for two months till I ordered blinds. These were perfect for short use and were easy to put up, take down and reposition if needed. Get them if you are hesitating. They are very worth the privacy for an inexpensive fix.

I was VERY leery of these shades because I have never purchased a "Paper Shade" in my life, and wasn't sure that paper would be strong enough. After reading reviews I decided to give them a try. I ordered 3M Scotch Heavy Duty Mounting Tape, 1-Inch by 50-Inch with the shades because I wanted to be sure they stuck. I was able to cut them down to the ODD sizes I needed. My dining room has 4 windows - 2 in the center are considerably larger then the ones on each side of the 2 bigger ones. I was able to cut one shade in half and use those 2 pieces in each side window, and I was able to cut off about 4 inches of 2 more to fit the center windows. These were simple to install. Measure your window, cut with either sharp scissors or an Exacto knife.Pull off the strip covering the sticky strip <I did that and then added the 3M Double Sided Tape>, then simply put them up. These curtains, all 6 of them, come with clips that you put on the bottom of the shade to pull up and down the shade, without touching the paper. It took me an hour to put all 4 shades up, and I'm 100% Disabled so I don't usually do this stuff. But I was excited to see them up and didn't want to wait for my husband to come home from work to do it. I am actually pretty impressed with these shades. They look Amazing! You'd never know they are paper unless you get right up to them and feel them. They are definitely a high quality paper. I had these ugly, ugly plastic mini blinds that I paid a fortune for since they were such odd sizes, and these Paper Shades look like I spent even more! They aren't light "Blocking", but they do filter it. I have more light now then I did with the plastic mini blinds. It's a really nice "glow" light. I like that there's no string/handles, they're cordless. They provide complete privacy <nobody can see in or out> while not blocking out the light. What I like best though is No. 1 - the price is perfect! Where can you get 6 shades for under $40??? And No.2 - I can do this myself! And quickly! AND with no help from anyone. And for someone like myself who has to count on someone to help with almost everything - that's pretty awesome to me! Definitely give these a try!

Loved these, they are easy to install and looks like a real blind. Didn’t like the clips they look like clothespins could be nicer

They are perfect. Made out of high quality paper and look amazing. Filter out light but not entirely. I am not regretting my purchase and that what matters. I would anyday choose these over traditional blinds in future. Long lasting.

Bought these mostly to keep my neighbors from judging the chaotic state my kitchen counter was in. For essentially $55 I put shades on 7 windows which really isn't that bad since I suspect they'll be around for at least a year. They're nothing special- basically stiff paper folded back and forth with double-sided tape on one side. It's up to you to decide if that's worth the price. For me I'm pretty okay with it and it does look good from far away. Things to note: It is pretty delicate (it's paper after all) so be careful. So far the tape that came with has held but it's only been a day so who knows. The measurements are very much "max length" measurements and not what it can comfortably cover- so be prepared to stretch if you need it to go over a long window. (I used a flat of pop cans to keep it down until it stretched out.) For cutting, I just took a box cutter and sawed back and forth and it worked okay. One box did come with creased ends but I was planning to cut an end anyway so it didn't matter. On further inspection, I stretched one out and honestly I don't think it would be too bad once spread but again these are very temporary for me. tl;dr you're paying (at time of writing) $30 for 6 blinds. Quality isn't really going to be there but for this I don't think it's too bad. Would recommend as a quick and temporary solution. edit: Been about two weeks and one started to peel away while another fell. Was prepared for this and had already bought double-sided tape ahead of time. My assumption is the adhesive is weak-ish to prevent paint stripping when you do remove it. Still no problems.
