Holds up to 300lbs! A great way to get exercise while having fun
The media could not be loaded. My husband is a big guy: 6'2" a little over 300lbs. He hates exercise in general because he gets too hot too fast. I thought I'd give this a try, even though the weight limit is set for mid 200's. It was amazing to see how well he did on his very first try! This is a great way to work on balance, endurance, and cardio. It held up really well. I have no comment on the durability insofar as the paint is concerned, but we keep it on a rack on our dock, out of the water when not in use, with the paddle drive and handlebar in the shed. We also keep it locked with a chain, as it does draw a lot of attention on the water!

A lot of money to have paint bubbling after two uses
beautiful board, but paint is already bubbling in one area. It was after the second use, board was dried and stored in a padded case.

This version scratches easy - the dura version does not
We own two of these and we love them, but there is a bunch of stuff I wish we knew before we bought them. First off, this model has a huge problem with paint chipping. If you lightly rest it on gravel, it will scratch and chip. Hobie had so many complaints about the scratches that they redesigned it and released the “Dura” version. It’s the same as this one, but made with different materials that won’t scratch easy. The dura is more expensive and this model is starting to be discounted. There solution for this model is to buy a $60 rail guard kit that adds extra protection to the board, but it will still scratch. So - if you care about how this looks over time, spend the extra for the “dura” model. If you don’t care, them this one is fine. Next, it has a pretty high weight limit. We’ve used it with people over 280lbs without issue. Kids use is a little different. The steering grips open pretty wide and my 7 year old has problems fitting his hands around them to steer. I’d say 10yr and older will be okay with this, but younger kids will have issues. The newer versions of this have handles in the front and back, older ones don’t, so check on the year before you buy it. You’ll need cart or the cover bag to move this around. That all said, this thing is awesome. Super stable and lots of fun. Way more fun if you’re with someone else who has one, but still great if you’re alone. Plan on getting a little wet though. All the promo videos show people in sneakers...that won’t work. You’ll need flip flops or water shoes that can get wet.
