stable, sturdy, and effective while holding a low price
At first when this arrived I was disappointed. Really, it was the cheapest feeling box. While removing the pieces I was a bit relieved to see a thicker metal frame, unlike the shelves touted to hold two tons of weight that had the flimsiest metal. This metal I began to see quality in. The top is a bit...disappointing...but I plan to use a drill press on it, mounted. This will not be a problem. Assembly was easy enough, but DO NOT tighten the screw until fully assembled, otherwise you will be off and mad, fighting with this thing to assemble. Leave the screws and bolts in place, but loose. Then once EVERYTHING is together and screwed to the top, tighten the screws and it will hold perfectly and look great. Adjust the levels for your flooring and you are done. Stable, sturdy, and effective all at a low price. I couldn't be happier.

Sturdy but awkward to assemble
Item is as described but the description is a little misleading since it's "butcher block". The description on re-reading the product entry is accurate but the presentation of the product misleads that this is a real butcher block not strong cardboard (MDF). The table is strong for its weight and once assembled should be fine to bolt a bench tool (drill press in my case) to. Strength is coming from tension and geometry, individual components are as thin and light as possible. Assembly is difficult without a helper since most parts require a lot of space to layout and tightening bolts requires weird angles. Assembling this on the floor put me into stress positions like a BSDM scene in order to see what I'm doing. Instructions were sparse and honestly incorrect about wrench size. 8mm wrench slipped constantly, 5/16" might have been closer. Holes in the stamped metal parts line up well enough and there is sufficient flex to lock everything together. The top does not come pre-drilled and there are no dimensions in the instructions. Just lining it up by eye and guessing is their recommendation. I would prefer "mark and drill pilot holes at x and y distances" over that.

Sturdy table and very good customer service.
It is a very strong table. I had one Metal support piece Missing and the supplier, not amazon, sent me another one which I received in about two days. Pretty nice of them since amazon past me off to supplier who had no record of the transaction, and they bent over backwards to help me.

Cheap table, but probably adequate
I bought this table as a replacement for a generally similar 20 year old table, which holds my spindle sander. The old one sat in a partially flooded basement for a while and the legs rusted out. I was trying to find an inexpensive replacement table with comparable height to the old one, and a top of sufficient dimensions for the base of the sander. This Shop Fox table was the closest match. The table is 'pure Chinese' semi-garbage. Very thin sheet metal which has overall strength and rigidity only because the legs and brackets are A) folded, B) bolted to other brackets, C) screwed to the table top. I am aware that mutual reinforcement of weaker structural members makes for a stronger whole, but on this table the sheet metal is the thinnest I have seen anywhere. I would not trust this table to hold more than perhaps 100 pounds....it is rated much higher, but I am sure that is just a static load straight down, not taking into account vibration, side loads, bumps, uneven weight distribution, etc. The painting is thin, and has runs in it. The adhesive backed Shop Fox metalized pastic labels came from the factory attached to the frame, but not centered and very askew. Two days after I had the table assembled, one of those labels fell off and would not stick back on. The instructions are sketchy, and the only illustration is a small, grainy black and white photo of the table, which does very little to clarify a few aspects of assembly that could benefit from more information. Be prepared to spend about an hour sitting on the floor, trying to get all the parts aligned enough that the bolts will go through all the holes. When I assembled my table frame (bolts only finger tight at this time), the assembly was skewed due to misalignments of the bolts due to holes being inaccurately punched, or the sheet metal parts being sloppily bent. The frame needs to be upended on the upside down table top resting the floor, in order to put in all the screws that affix table top to frame. I found it necessary to screw down one side of the frame top, then brace my foot against the frame and force it to be square with the skewed frame, before putting in the rest of the screws. Eventually, the whole thing was assembled, and rather amazingly ended up fairly straight and in reasonable alignment. The table top is approximately 3/4" thick pressed hardboard, rather like thick Masonite. It has wood grained top trim, like adhesive contact paper, to make it look more like the advertised 'butchers block'. Don't expect this top to hold up to ANY abuse. Anything that slides on it will either tear the decorative top trim, or will gouge into the fairly soft hardboard. It should be OK for a not-too-heavy tool that can be bolted down, as long as that tool's weight is fairly well centered and distributed across the top. The bottoms of the table legs have welded on threaded plugs, into which you can screw the adjustable height 'feet'. The legs themselves do not have feet, so you really need to use these screw-in ones. I would not recommend trying to put after-market castors on these legs' they don't seem stiff enough and might fold if subjected to side loads while wheeling the table around. On my table, the threads on the bottoms of the four legs were all spattered with beads of weld, so none of the feet would thread in. I had to go to the store and buy a metric tap, and tap the holes to remove the weld spatter. You get what you pay for......

An Excellent Work Table/Tool Stand
The assembly was easy to figure out by looking at the photo. A few tips; follow the written directions. Assemble but do not tighten the nuts until the work surface is screwed in place. The most crucial part of the assembly is positioning the frame on the underside of the work surface. Use a ruler to make sure it is centered. Wrap some electrical tape around the drill bit to act as a stop so you donโt drill all the way through the work table. I purchased the suggested casters for the table and they work great. This is a great work table for a small shop or as a stand for power tools. I am using it for a small drill press and sander. I will purchase more of these as my needs grow.

A bit tough to assemble
Nice looking table. I plan to mount both a drill press and a vise on the same table. For the vise, light duty projects only. I also plan to use casters on the feet in order to move it around. Seems sturdy and stable. "Butcher block" top is really composite board with a wrap so, over time, the wrap will wear away and become damaged but, for now, looks good. A little on the low side, around 30", but I hope that adding casters will bring it up a couple of inches. I'd also prefer larger threads on the feet so the casters could be stronger but 5/16" is marginally ok (may be metric ?). Biggest issue is the assembly. Instructions are ok but could benefit from more pictures. Some trial/error req'd during assembly and best if you have a helper. You must drill around 20 holes to attach the top to the frame. Nice little table but marginal as a tool stand. Nicer table than tool stands from leading Chinese tool retailer but also costs a bit more. I gave it 4 stars only because it will serve my limited needs ok. Update after one week - welds broke loose on threaded nut for attaching the leveling screws. I'll try to reweld it but attachment is very weak on all 4. Dropped 4 star rating to 1 star as a result. Very poorly designed/made.

Meets my expectations, and needs
So far, so good. I'll be using it for wood carving in making small sculptural items, and also for carving linoleum or wood for relatively small block printing applications. I didn't want to abuse my nice dining table, and I had nothing else I could use for this purpose, so I hope this will work for my needs. Any time something has "art" written on it, the price rises exponentially, so it makes a lot more sense to buy a shop tool, such as this, rather than something from an art store or outlet, and I am not disappointed with this purchase. It was a great price, and it arrived quickly and was packed up nicely, so that was a good start, too. I can't yet say how the top will hold up. Many reviewers had complaints with the top. I am aware it is particle board, and only has a thin paper-type of cover to give it the appearance of real wood, so that might look crummy real fast, or maybe not. Time will tell. In the meantime, I just needed something I could use for carving relief sculpture, and sculpture in the round, in my small space. I just need to clamp my wood pieces down with a C-clamp, and hopefully I'll be good to go. If I had a full studio, and tons of space, I'm sure I"d want a larger table, but since I have a tiny house and limited space, altogether, this might be the ticket. As others have said, the basic structure seems to give it great stability, and that's exactly what I need, most of all. I haven't yet had the chance to use it, but so far it seems to be perfect, and in my world, "perfect" works!

Sturdy bench but assembly is a pain
This is a good bench and the best general purpose one I've found on Amazon. Particularly for this price. If the height was adjustable, it would be a sweet bargain! As it is, worth the money, but be aware of two things: 1 - The top is some sort of press board. Its sturdy and will hold up to normal use. But if you're the type who destroys stuff like this (I am), you'll definitely want to think about putting together a hardwood replacement (I did -- took me less time than assembly -- see below) 2 - This thing takes like 50 or 60 screws. That's not so bad, but the screws at the leg joints are set in an inside angle making it a real pain to manipulate the nut. I ended up putting a few backward just so the nut was on the outside. They coulda just offset one of each set a little bit... The top takes ~20 screws -- unless you replace it with a solid top and put in 6 like I did :). Assembly isn't that incredibly hard, but it is annoying and slower than it needs to be.

Terrible/stupid defect
Defected product, holes on my leg were drilled on the wrong side so couldnโt even put the bench up together. Replaced with another brand

Try adjustable feet before you assemble rest of table !
Made the mistake of putting the feet on last, and one leg had a faulty weld that blocked threads. returned unit, not happy of wasting my time.

Broke on assembley
The wooden top split upon assembly, in half. Very disappointed!!

Top not pre-drilled
The top was not pre drilled and it split upon assembly (I hired a knowledgable fellow). Aside from this it is very sturdy and still suits the purpose I purchased it for.
