Is the volume knob supposed to be a little loose? It has a nice click, but if you shake it you can hear and feel the knob shake.

You should not feel any rattle while shaking it. The click is normal.

Any instances of accidentally changing the volume while the device is in your pocket?

Only been using it for a couple of days now and it has changed the volume a few times when sliding it in and out of my pocket, but it hasn't while just sitting in my pocket. I even vacuumed the house with it in my pocket and it did just fine.

I use wired more than I do Bluetooth, you get more power and you don't need to worry about battery life. Plus, it sounds better over wired than Bluetooth

Does it have a separate volume in addition to the device volume? Or it takes over the device volume?

What I found is it overrides the device volume over Bluetooth and it doesn't over a wired connection. I tried with a tablet and my phone and does the same
