Great read

Enjoyed this book, light hearted romance novel. One of a series. Worth a read

Fantastic enemies to lovers romance

Loved this! This was my first book by this author and won’t be my last. Sweet, sexy and believable with a great supporting cast I am keen to read more about.Wyatt and Sydney’s antagonism toward each other was initially annoying (just sit down and have a real conversation you two!) but once they got together, the rest of the story unfolded perfectly. If you are fans of the enemies to lovers trope, this will not disappoint!

Good but not great

Sydney owned a restaurant which was a failing business and she didn't have the money to save it. Wyatt was rich and had experience of turning businesses around but Sydney refused his money or his help. When Sydney's stubbornness clashes with Wyatt's bossiness sparks fly between them. Both the main characters and the secondary characters were interesting although I found Sydney frustrating, refusing to see the solution to her dilemma. I liked the banter between Sydney and Wyatt. The story was amusing at times but it didn't make me laugh out loud. I would have liked a bit more drama in the story as I felt there was something missing that would elevate it to 5 stars.

Ticks all the boxes for the genre so can't complain

This is predictable because it has all the required boxes ticked for it genre. For those who like romance, it's a delightful book to lie on the beech with although I found little comedy in it.The style reads well making it a relaxing book to pass the time between cocktails.

A nice and warm love story!

A lovely, easy read (read in one sitting). An ideal holiday/beach book. It's my favourite type.... It has a beginning, a middle and an ending! It's not one of those books where you feel cheated having spent good money to then discover that it only contains a few paragraphs!Plus, although there are the usual bumps in the road, it has a HEA.Perfect! ❤️

Thoroughly enjoyable.

Sydney is a great character, she’s feisty, smart, opinionated with a marshmallow inside. Wyatt knows just how to get under her skin. Behind all that banter is a sexual tension everyone else notices but they deny.I liked their development through the story. Great secondary characters as well.

Good story line

A different take on a love story with the trials that make lead up to an exciting end. Loved it.

fun, sexy read

FETCHING is a standalone read with a happy ending. There are sexy scenes and some suggestive language if that is an issue for you. The story is set in a small town. Not sure exactly where but a drive to the big city. Sydney is the owner of an historical Inn that is really not an Inn anymore. It has been in the family for generations and when her father passed he left it to the oldest son. The son tried to make a go of it but the father also left him a lot of debt. The Inn is old, it hasn't had any updating for years if ever and there is no money to get it updated.Drew decides to sell the Inn and get rid of the money pit. Sydney, the only girl in the family is emotionally attached. So Drew turns it over to her to try her luck. She really needs about $300,000 to pay off the debt and then pay for renovations. No bank will lend her the money already owing $200,000. She doesn't have it nor does she have anywhere but one place to possibly get it. Her best friend has done well in Hollywood and she is more than willing to loan her the money but Sydney doesn't want to ask her friend for money and have that possibly come between them. There just doesn't seem to be an answer to her problem. Not until....Wyatt is an IT billionaire. He is young, arrogant and loaded. He will take a small business about to go under and put money and smarts into it and bring it back to life. He becomes a partner and an idea man. He is good at what he does. He and Sydney do not exactly hit it off when they meet. Wyatt is always teasing and picking at Sydney and she doesn't know how to handle it. He has offered to buy her Inn, renovate it and then let Sydney manage it and he will be the marketing guy behind the scenes. The price? He becomes part owner and Sydney is having none of that. This is a fun, cute story. Sydney got on my nerves a little bit with her high thoughts - especially after they are engaged but to each his own. I really liked Wyatt. He was a fun character with a heart of gold and a great sense of humor. Sydney needed to lighten up a bit. But all told, it is a good story and I definitely recommend it.I was not paid for this review. I am not a writer nor do I know one. I am not kin to this author. I am a reader and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less. 6/29/2021.

Cute and sexy

I liked the book, if it were possible, I would give it 4.5 stars.I liked the writing (I don’t even know how many books I‘ve already read by Kylie Gilmore, so that’s no surprise), the story, the characters. It was cute and sexy.

Good story but needs more heart

Sydney has put her heart and soul into running the bar/restaurant that has been in her family for years, but the place is bleeding money. Her brothers want to sell it because of the enormous debt her father secretly accrued to keep it open, but Sydney’s determined to turn things around. Enter Wyatt, a young tech billionaire with a penchant for breathing life into dying businesses. He just moved to town and wants to invest in the Horseman Inn. This opportunity is too good to be true since no bank will grant her a loan but it’s a nightmare because Sydney can’t stand the sight of Wyatt Winters. The two are constantly at each other’s throats but when they’re trapped together due to a snowstorm, they’re forced to get to know one another better and sparks fly.The characters and plot were enjoyable but a bit too cliché for my taste. For instance, Sydney fixates on her raging hatred of Wyatt if his name is so much as mentioned but then she runs into him at the store buying tampons for his sister and that melts her heart. Even worse, Wyatt’s embarrassed that she “caught” him doing this completely normal thing. Also, there’s too much telling instead of showing. Describe how the tension feels, don’t just say ‘there’s tension in the air’. Tell us what happens in her mind and body because she feels a rush of longing for this man. I want to know her whole body flushes with longing for his touch when he’s near, not a short sentence that she ‘feels need’. Boring. They also seemed to fall deeply in love in a few hours but it didn’t flow here. Insta-love can work if done right but not when the characters loathe one another and she refers to him in her head as Satan. That may have worked if there was more detail showing us how they affect one another and letting the characters reflect on their changing opinions, but it didn’t happen. Some small editing changes might have turned a lot of the narrative into action, making this a great story, so I was a bit disappointed. There’s a blossoming story here with Wyatt’s sister and one of Sydney’s brothers to set up another book in the series and they’re both interesting characters so I’ll probably give their story a chance at some point but I wasn’t impressed with Sydney and Wyatt’s story.

Cute...

Sydney has a bar in need to financial help, & Wyatt has the money to lend her. However, they can’t stand one another, until she gets stranded at his house during a big storm. It’s a cute enough story, but Wyatt is not as likeable as she is... He’s often described as smirking, & he’s at times condescending. For example, he goes to talk to Sydney’s brother about her business when he sees talking to her doesn’t work. He tells everyone that she’s in love with him, which is funny, but then tells her employees this (ummm... there’s a time & place for jokes, & work isn’t it). Then he goes behind her back to take care of her load, without taking the time to understand why she didn’t want him to be involved. In spite of this, this was a nice, short story to read.
