Product Description After losing everything, a young fish, Pi, goes to live with his family on the Reef. There he meets the love of his life but finds that she already has the unwanted affections of a bully shark. He must follow his destiny to save her and rid the Reef of this menace for good. .com The story of a young fish who suffers a great loss and moves to a new town where he falls in love with a beautiful fish and angers the resident shark bully, The Reef (initially known as Shark Bait) is a beautifully computer animated film with striking similarities to Finding Nemo and Shark Tale. The first Hollywood feature-length, all computer generated film ever made in Korea, The Reef won the Film Advisory Board Award of Excellence and is a great display of saturated colors, nice underwater detailing, and anthropomorphic animation that endows every fish with an abundance of character while retaining its believability as a fish. The voice talent is good and includes Freddie Prinze Jr. as Pi, Evan Rachel Wood as Cordelia, Fran Drescher as Pearl, Donal Logue as Troy, and Rob Schneider as a variety of sea creatures including Nerissa. The story is engaging, but the whole film watches like a Finding Nemo knock-off with scenes like the pelican bobbing on the channel marker, the Portuguese Man of War that populate the West Indies current, and the wise old turtle Nerissa who teaches Pi so much about the ways of the sea. Similarities to Shark Tale also abound, the most obvious being one little fish's determination to stand up to the big bully shark. Appropriate for ages 3 and older, although the initial scene where Pi's mother and father are caught in a fishing net may prove upsetting to very young or sensitive children. --Tami Horiuchi

VERY CUTE STORY - GRANDKIDS LOVED IT
This was great entertainment for my 4 year old granddaughter and 8 year old grandson. They watched it together twice immediately and thoroughly enjoyed it. The cartoon graphics are excellent and the celebrity voice-overs make it great fun for both children and adults.

Grandson loves this
I bought this for entertainment for my 11 mo old grandson as he cries from boredom in his rear-facing carseat. He enjoys watching the fish at my house so I figured he would enjoy looking at the fish in the movie. He no longer cries on our car trips. Mission accomplished.

Enjoyed this movie
This movie is perfect for small children just exploring all of their colors or for kids that love fish. My daughter whom is almost 3 really loves both things, fish and colors which...she enjoys this movie for those reasons!

The Reef is a great family movie, that even Walt would approve (If Walt Disney was still Alive)!
Both my husband and I loved to watch this movie together. This is great for the whole family! This movie teaches a valuable lesson to use your brain to resolve problems. The problem that the main character had was getting a bully to stop bulling everyone in the reef. I don't want to give away the movie end, so I will stop there! I would recommend this movie! The movie held our interest and is fun for the whole family!

this is a gift so i doubt if i ever get to see it for myself.. but based ont he color of the box and the theme, i figure it must be close to or even better then nemo.. little ones will not be as picky as an adult.. but as far as i can see and read on it, its worth the money.

The Reef- DVD
This is a very colorful movie. It has a plot of caring for others & especially helful for kids to see what can happen when a two have an interest in the same person (fish). I enjoyed it as much as my 7 year old grandson did. I recommend it if you like ocean type of animation.
