The red plastic is very durable and the quality all around is great. Very happy I invested in this grill brush, as it is more expensive than most basic grill brushes, but it’s well worth it. Don’t have to worry about wires possibly getting imbedded in food. My only complaint is that it doesn’t come with a hole in the handle for hanging, I plan to drill a hole to thread a piece of plastic through so I can hang it on side of the grill. I am not buying their silicone hanger for $10. Based on the picture, you can tell this grill brush works really well, this is after cooking BBQ pork tenderloin. Cleaned it right up without a problem, just follow the simple directions.
