These worked great to fix a pedicure chair

I bought this pair to hook up to an ESP32, to run the drip misters on my ferns and roses. Managed to get them running on the same PSU. Wired in a flyback resister and they're perfect. Honestly I have treated them like total crap - I just 3D printed a little cap to keep the connectors covered, and left them exposed to the elements - and they're still going strong, cycling several times per day, 3 Southern summers later. Lots of misunderstandings among the reviews here, people are not reading the specs fully. You do need a minimum pressure for it to work, I use ~25psi and it's fine. Also the solenoid is cooled by the water flowing through - if you run it dry, you will burn it out quickly. I'm writing this because I came back to but a few more pairs, create a few mini-manifolds around my yard.

First, these are priced right, but I wouldn't expect the plastic valve body to last as long as a Brass valve body. I did a lot of research to check the thread specs and these are 1/2 inch, but they are British (International) 1/2 inch and not NPT (US Standard). Similar, but a different thread pitch and profile, so yiu COULD force an NPT fitting on these plastic threads, but it will ruin the threads and will likely leak. You need a 1/2 inch adapter - 1/2 NPS Female - for the input (the side with the power terminals) and the same - 1/2 NPS Female - for the outlet side. NPS fittings requires a Rubber sealing washer, much like your garden hose does because the threads DON'T seal, like NPT does. MY PROJECT: I'm using these in a custom-made three-zone hot water recirc system, and I'm using 1/2 inch PEX for my return (recycle) lines. So I bought 1/2 inch Female NPS to 1/2 inch NPT Male adapters, and 1/2 inch NPT to 1/2 Inch PEX adapters. So the overall length - with adapters - is 8 inches! With these adapters included, the cost per Valve - the REAL COST - is over $25 per valve. So it's going to take awhile to recover the cost (from not wasting 4 gallons of water waiting for actual Hot water). MOUNTING: The four mounting posts under the valve have small unthreaded holes, so I suggest you pre-drill them to accept your own screws. The mounting posts are accurately Square, with post center to center at exactly 25 mm. That's just a smidge (2/125) under an inch. One inch will work, though. I'm going to buy some spare Solenoid Valves for if (when) these fail. I'll be looking for Brass ones now.

worked out very well

They work as intended, however they would open without command in certain conditions. Upon investigation I found I had been shipped 0-.02 mpa valves; much lower pressure range than I ordered. The valves seal beyond that max pressure and also open beyond that max pressure, to some degree- depending on temperature they will push open or not open depending on how you configure them in your apparatus. I didn’t realize I had received the incorrect units until after the return date. My fault and the sellers fault 50/50, so 3 stars. In the intended pressure range- 5 stars, they work perfectly.
