This was larger than I needed or expected so it didn’t work for me like I needed. But that’s my fault. This is very well made. Very nice tool. Just be sure it’s the size you need.

No more finding some clever way to scribe a large diameter circle. This tool is super strong. built really well and will last for generations. Well worth the price.

I use a compass to scribe baseboard molding so I can cut its profile into furniture I want to sit flush against a wall (like a radiator cover) and for laying out arcs. Although at 12 inches this is larger than I generally have needed (so far) the heavy-duty construction and the firm lock it has to keep the ends in the position I want make it vastly preferable to any other compass I have used, which are by comparison little better than drawing freehand. This is solid enough and heavy enough for commercial use.
